Part of the problem for the summer is that Roy has one year left on his contract.
It makes little sense to bring in his choice of players as a future manager may not see them as a good fit for what he wants.
On the other hand, if the club bring in players Roy doesn’t like they won’t feature.
Apparently Sari at Chelsea has told Drinkwater they are good players but don’t fit how he wants to play and they are free to find new clubs.
In the meantime Chelsea are encumbered with expensive contracts.
You could argue that Roy is not across the signings we have made in his time at the club as none of them are definite starters.
He will prefer Schlupp over Kouyate or Townsend/ Mcarthur over Meyer. It took him a long time to start Guita and let’s not even start on Sorloth or Jach.
Hopefully somebody at the club has some sort of strategy for the summer and beyond but at the moment it’s difficult to fathom.

On the player front it's hard to predict what will happen. I think AWB would benefit from another season with us. And it's possible that we could price Wilf out of a move should he want one. But it looks like we need to sell before we buy...I would expect Benteke to go if we can find a buyer at the right price.

I think that is unlikely, who would want a CF who can't score or kick a ball, is lazy, has no football brain?

Lets pray he can grab a couple at least the last 2 games and someone from China forgets to look beyond the last 4 games.

1. Shares open to buy. Meaningless. Newcastle have been for sale for years.

2. I’m not sure Wilf loves playing this style for the team, and therein lies the issue.

4. Reasonable track record of identifying good Premiership players at low cost? Seriously? We’ve been a joke in the transfer market apart from Pulis and partly Allardyce unless we overpay out of a Panini album, when have we really found anyone cheaper than value or intuitively? This time we’ve signed a keeper who doesn’t like leaving his line and cannot catch the ball in the air, Meyer who itsxlike Parish signed on reputation but Roy doesn’t want him, and Kouyate, who doesn’t play, but can actually carry the ball forward. Our transfer policy is poor and lacks joined up thinking.

5. Reasonable track record for t bringing youth through the academy? 2 players in 10 years, one of whom only happened because Roy was forced to, otherwise he could be playing for the Wombles now.

6. Which Premiership side wouldn't suffer if they got relegated? Nearly all of our players would have to go and the playing philosophy would take ages to change, so we’d suffer very badly, and by the time we sorted ourselves out we’d be midtable at best.

As positive as ever Rudi. There must be one element of the club you are almost satisfied with. Go on, have a think. Maybe Kayla the eagle, does that cheer you up? The cheerleaders...surely they put a smile on your face on a Saturday.

As we become more established in the premier it is interesting to note the different wishes of our fans.
Like him or not, Roy Hodgson has brought a huge amount of stability to the club. Like many, I have been surprised at some of his team selections etc. but he has clearly called it right.
We are at a stage where we should be good to middle the premier. This is a first for all Palace fans of 10 years plus support. We are not used to stability. We are entering new territory. I was relaxed at Selhurst on Saturday having a laugh. Enjoyed all my old heroes at half time. Mark Lazarus. Jeez, what a bloody buzz that was!! Sir John Jackson our greatest keeper ever. Tony Taylor!! The list was long. Well done Palace, that really made my day. Poor sods, all hobbled on except for Brighty. Just shows what pro football does to you long term.
So for me, Saturday was a different experience. No nerve wrenching fear as Everton pressed time and again. Totally chilled when Guaita constantly pressed for an international call. The guy was unreal.
It was so Un Palace. Just not sure what to say really. I’m confused !!
Sorry to see Benteke restored to normal after his only goal of the season performance at Arsenal. But I suppose that was to be expected. Some things will never change.
But still enjoyed an almost surreal wind swept afternoon in SE 25.

This is unfair. He isn't lazy, and exhibits football intelligence in his movement when deployed properly.

It's not his fault that as a head on a stick we neither have players able to deliver balls into the box nor a manager willing to set the team up to play to his strengths.

I expect a savvy manager will come in for him and we'll end up with egg on our faces .

Strategy - that's a novel concept for Palace

A £30mil CF who needs the ball planted on his head six yards out to make any meaningful attacking contribution and even then is more likely to miss than score.

It’s my local club I’ve supporting and watching for a long time, but I’m not going to pretend all is wonderful like the previous post or probably yourself with points like us being available to buy. Yep, that’ll make the summer really good for Palace. We’re open to buy. Great. And the youth and transfer market points we’re surely a joke.

Yep. The glimpses of him improving at the start of the season at Fulham and recently at Arsenal do not last long. I think him losing form under Roy is no coincidence but even so, he’s sh1t. I love the way instead of chasing one player down he just stands between the two. He’s a fvcking waste of space and it’s like having half a person st best as our 11th man. We’ve been carrying the cvnt.

He might be effective in the direct Burnley team playing in a two man strikeforce. But I doubt they could afford his wages.

In the final analysis he has a contract until the end of the next season and his wages would prove a stumbling block in terms of us offloading him.If he had been frozen out and just warming the bench this might make him want to accept a decrease in wages and leave for more regular football but he has found his way back into the side.
