You are completely beyond the pale.

I can only assume you came onto this site to try to prevent decent discussion.

It appears likely the violence is not related to indigenous pressures. Rather, it seems similar to international terrorism and a Jihadi philosophy.

The terrorists have an agenda including trying to push ordinary Muslims into joining their dehumanised regime. They foment hatred between Muslims and non-Muslims as a part of that. They also try to scare Muslims into providing tacit - and possibly practical - support.

Your post reminded me of a story I read in Time Magazine years ago. A group of Imams went to Ayatollah Khomenei of Iran & told him the Koran didn’t support his repressive language. His reply was that it wasn’t what the Koran says. It was only important what HE said the Koran says.

There really isn’t anything wrong with religion except for some really selfish people who hijack it.

The hijacking or invention of a belief IS religion.
It doesn't exist beyond that. It is purely a tool to manipulate.

Please don`t say that you refer to this man

I am also against motto of `Islam is a peaceful religion` but this guy is good sample of why religions turn to a fatal weapon.

Well Erdogan isn't western and he doesn't pretend to be from what I can tell.

He's usually quite honest, you tend to get honesty from nationalists. I think the message he's quite correctly saying about religion is that you can't reject the parts you don't like, only the adherents within the religion itself get to decide what it is.

Religions can't be bought nor intimidated. I respect that more than the 'easy come, easy go' neo liberal....the person whose ultimate loyalty is to their enjoyment of life and balance sheet.

You can't have a competition for minds when one side has ever lasting life and a set of rules for getting there.

I agree this part. However, the difference is that you may only follow your belief, or you may want / fight for your belief to be a law. My understanding from moderate and radical is this difference.

It is weird that he was pretending like EU partner a decade ago and EU clowns were very happy with him due to his so-called democratic actions in Turkey

He is simply a disastrous human being for Earth.

I certainly agree with you.

He represents the more religious than secular brand of Islamic community in Turkey......so while I agree that Erdogan is backwards for Turkey he is representative of political Islam.....probably one of its least destructive examples.

If community sizes are just allowed to grow without any thought as to the impact further down the line then those responsible only create a poisoned chalice for the next generations.

We should ban halal meat and also male circumcision....that would discourage more Islamic immigration and religious immigration in general. While it would cause problems with the pious that's inevitable....so lance the boil while you still can.

But we won't and things will be far worse later.

Imams are from the Sunni branch of Islam and Iran is shiite....so that story is probably just that.

We shouldn't forget that Khomenei didn't come out of nowhere. He was an expert in Islamic Shiite studies and represented a significant body of feeling and religion in Iran.

sri Lankan government for killing terrorists who would kill innocent people.
Geez and thats in london.
Good old blighty and freedom of speech...
Unless its against certain causes and beleifs
then its racist, hard right wing or a hate crime.

If the Sri Lankan government is only killing terrorists, I doubt many would complain. I heard something like 14 children were killed by government forces. I doubt they were all radicalised terrorists but I haven't got the full story any more than anyone else.
Other countries don't tend to need the balance of evidence the UK does in order to convict people. Doubtful Sri Lanka ever will. They massacred thousands of Tamils, so why not Muslims next?
Burma seems to be doing things that way. Whilst people might be thinking 'great - get rid of Islam in that way', of course it only exacerbates the problem in the West - as more are radicalised by seemingly unfair treatment of co-religionists.
