Hodgson plays the same tactical formation despite and irrespective of, the quality of the opposition. He did the same whilst England manager. Basically it's a park the bus scenario which cedes the midfield to the opposition and hopes to effectively work on the break.
With the squad available I think we have far more possibilities than what we see under his one dimensional tactical approach.

..is going to! the problem is he will look a lot better because the players around will be a lot better, I didn't say he doesn't have talent and wont improve ..put him into Wolves for example now and he will still look lost though, needs more experience.

Lets see what happens when he is allowed to bring in a couple of players OK, then I'll agree with you if with a more competent midfield set up we play exactly the same because I see our midfield apart from two possibly are well below what we need to hurt teams at home with the sort of football you want to see.

Hodgson did well with England, you are falling into that hole about thinking the players were actually better then they actually were.
England is very average, especially when facing technical ability.

I don’t want to divert this thread because this has happened on this subject before, but, Hodgson beat all the cr@ppy countries in qualifiers and then when it came to anyone half decent, or Iceland ffs, not a flaming clue. Kane at corners LAUGH OUT LOUD.

Hodgson is not a big team manager but he’s a safe pair of hands for our size. But please don’t fool yourself he’s maximising our chances of cup or attractiveness progress if you like. Same tactics all the time. At first we thought it was because he had no choice. Wrong. No subs or in game management vs the opposition and their manager.

I accept Roy as manager but it isn’t progressive, entertaining or something you look forward to. It’s a chore during a time we need to stay in the league to get the stand done, but if it isn’t done it’ll seem like a waste all round.

Losing to Brighton twice and have some of their supporters crowing about it is somewhat galling.
Without those 6 pts they wouldn't be safe now but in the bottom 3 !
