MacArthur better than Kouyate? No way, Jose. Not anymore.

..very weird how you and ChrisGC both dislike Hodgson with a vengeance and prefer Kouyate over McArthur, I wonder how many others think this way?

As for Schlupp, Such an unbelievably awful football player. Only that he is left footed he would not be playing pofessional football.

He does have moments where he makes you go Cor blimey!..but you are mainly right as he is very wasteful with passing very similar to the passing skills of PVA and Kouyate, they all need to sort themselves out quick.

I don't think we should let him go as I think he could still be an impact sub in terms of nicking a goal here and there and providing the odd assist.

Kouyate is very good at moving the ball forward and is nimble on the ball despite his gangly appearance plus his physical presence helps us retain or regain possession we have yet to see the real best of him.

..for the opposition yes!

i like jimmy mac, but the difference between the 3 is that we have had jimmy for a long time so there is that part of us that holds him in higher esteem.

the crux of it for me is all 3 are average PL midfielders, absolutely nothing wrong with that whatsoever, you couldnt see a team above us wanting to sign them, you could argue that one is better than the other but it would be very marginal.

whereas luca, and potentially max (a year os so down the line) you could see that happening.

Luka is slightly overrated. Take away the penalties (which are superb) and he can't pass a ball accurately 3 yards sideways and gets kicked out of games straight off the bat (Brighton at home springs to mind).

All this "he's from Serbia" s***e and he doesn't want to know when it comes to getting crunched.

That said, I like him, he's positionally excellent and runs for 90 mins with good Pens and FKs in his locker. Don't need both him and Macca starting imo. Both are getting to 30 we should be looking to source replacements.

Maine Eagle is usually absolutely spot on about Palace, see's the situation for what it is.

Isn't bothered about being shouted down by the vocal minority of "Hodgson's the greatest" brigade either which I admire.

im not talking about his nationality...but he is DMF and he is going to get clattered, much like cabaye did when he played there, his tactical fouls are great.

you dont need a DMF to be the best passer in the world, jedi was s*** at passing...even n’golo kante the best in the world at the postition doesnt bing balls like scholes.

you need disciplined players in your team with wingers like wilf & andros, and the fore mentioned players will graft all day, hustle, close down and chip in with goals assists.

i think you need to realise chris, our style of play couldnt work with KDB / silva / silva kind of players we would get smashed every week.with our budgets & situation our current midfielders are pretty damn good.

Not nationality: the song. I don't buy that he's a hardnut.

As for Jedi? Unpopular opinion but that was the only good thing Pardew did for us long term, he needed shipping out. Always in the right place but it was meaningless as he would give the ball immediately to the opposition 2 yards away.

I don't think I need to realise anything Baustone, I just see it differently to you. We should aspire to be top 8 by playing a more positive form of football and utilising the technically better players over the carthorses.
Meyer and Kouyate over Schlupp and Macca in the middle for me.

Meyer is lightweight. Too easily knocked off the ball and in most games he has started he has been anonymous. He seems best used as an impact sub when the game becomes a little more stretched. Jimmy Mac certainly has a few miles on the clock and may play fewer 90 mins next season. To describe Kouyate as technically gifted is stretching it.

Kouyate should be starting because he is a proper box-to-box midfielder and is probably the toughest of the lot, the tallest and positionally covers people very well. If he keeps it simple his passing is usually fine. Aside from his goals Luka has not played as well this season compared to the last, in my opinion. However, he is still good enough for us. If Meyer wants to oust McArthur he needs to toughen up. Technically Meyer is probably a better player, but McArthur just seems more effective at the moment and must be a pain to play against as he breaks up play well and is not afraid to put in a challenge and just seems to be everywhere. Despite a brief purple patch I still don't get what Schlupp brings to the midfield? He just seems lazy to me and all too often lets his man run off him. The things he does well is win headers, run at the opposition box and shoot, but his passing is poor and he rarely seems to tackle anyone.

I agree with you completely about Luka. He is far from a tough man, get's bullied around the pitch more often than not and his passsing leaves a lot to be desired.

We have some shocking passers of the ball havn't we, should be one of the most simplest tasks un football and we about 3 players who can consistently pass the ball 10 yards.
