As Sam Gyimah becomes the THIRTEENTH member of The Conservative Party to put their name forward for Strictly Come Prime Minister, what do you make of the candidates involved and do you believe that any have what it takes to bring the different factions of the party together? Will they also be able to win back lost trust from electorate and sort out Brexit once and for all? Or are they on the brink of further embarrassment and ruin?

I vote for an Agatha Christie solution. Put all the candidates on a deserted island last one standing becomes PM.

Actually I am glad that Sam Gyimah is standing he is a Remainer and at least one of the candidates should be in favour of that. He wont win but at least the Remainers can't say they didn't have a chance.

Agreed, while the Tory remainers have had the last two conservative leaders it's only right that the minority remain position is represented in the candidates.

A "Remoaner" who doesn't respect the result of the referendum and wants another one.
My advice to him is to flee to 'ChangeUK'

I'm not particularly au fait with Christie's works, but one of her stories is indeed set on a remote island, but in that one all the 'candidates' perished. There was no man left standing.

Edit: Sorry; no person left standing.

Spoiler alert. By the way the play and the movies (based on the play) have a different ending to the book which was considered too bleak.

Anyway all the Tory candidates die so what's your point?

Kind of you to give your advice so freely.

Presumably you think no other Conservative MP would like a third referendum.

From what I have seen there are actually a couple of decent people standing, maybe being party political or self-promoting has lost its shine and instead there are some who want to work for the public good.

Exactly if they don't have a Remainer in the contest they'll be wanting another vote. Some of the other candidates are flip flopping and probably are Remainers but at least Sam is out there as an out and out Remainer so they know who to vote for.

Presumably that's how many on the left would like the selection process to go.
