Parliamentary elections are the key part of our democratic process. They are binding.

Referendums aren't. They aren't binding.

You say these things knowing full well that they are meaningless in most people's minds and therefore irrelevant.

Only sad losers use these kinds of excuses.

Interesting results in Peterborough, Labour actually increased their majority when everyone expected them to be defeated. The Tories took a bit of a pasting but no where near the pasting that most were predicting and I suspect that they will be quite revealed with the result. The Libs will also be pleased that they did so well in a town where they never poll that well.

Just shows the difference between voting in the Euros and for an MP.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

You might want to read this if you think labour increased their majority.

And even more interesting the brexit party lost by only 600 votes without a political manafesto, yes well done labour, NOT

With the turnout well down on the General Election it seems that the biggest winner was apathy

Interesting from Jess Phillips, who regards Lisa Forbes as an anti-Semite. Jewish MP Margaret Hodge has mixed feelings.

The destruction of the car industry is mainly being caused because there is just too much capacity worldwide coupled with confusion caused by the Government over diesel and their withdrawal of the grants for plug in hybrids.

There was rubbish being spouted by a Labour MP on The Daily Politics today about Ford's Bridgend engine plant being caused by Brexit confusion until Andrew Neil pointed out that it was being shut in September 2020 because they had lost the contract to build engines for Jaguar Land Rover which would cease at that time

Saw that. They did not mention at the time that 7000 white collar Ford workers WORLDWIDE are to lose their jobs, nothing at all to do with Brexit

But it was only a 600 majority, democratically we should have another vote, they only won by 2% and if you add the conservatives and the brexit it amounts to a more right thinking majority.
It should be 're run, that's democratic don't you think?

Not at all.

This was an election which had a clear path to implementation.

Whoever wins becomes the MP for Peterborough. Pretty simple really.

If in 2022, after 3 years of arguing about how she should become an MP, what her salary is, where she will live, what happens with her kids, and no agreement at all with the 2 sides completely opposed, then we can have another vote.

Nice try but it doesn’t really match up does it.

I find it a bit strange that I have not heard 1 MP from any party who has said this (I am happy to see a link to disprove my point), you seem to be running a solo campaign on this

Disprove it.

Childish.

Anything other than a Labour win would have been surprising in the Asian outpost of Peterborough.

They scraped in, in a mid term bi-election with a floundering government and only 600 votes more than a party only formed a few weeks ago.

Do you actually think that is something to cheer?
