But it's OK because like most of not all BBC presenters he's a self proclaimed socialist (living in the highly diverse Barnes - where almost entirely white people have many diverse types of luxury car) so will obviously be giving most of it away. Don't see the problem myself. Are there any left wing celebrities that actually live in "diverse" areas?

I expect his actual living arrangements and treatment of his finances are clinically removed from his pushed persona though.

I expect they both knew that this was coming. You're right about adopting a fair approach though, and of maybe including a bit of wiggle room for those in that age bracket. Some possibly can't pay, and lots of old people are too proud to claim any benefits, and consequently won't be exempt under current rules. So that does seem unfair on them. I certainly do think that OAPs in future decades will have it even harder though, with strains on the NHS and I can't imagine free bus passes and the like sticking around forever, so things will go from bad to worse in future. Nobody should pay for a license. Get woke = go broke. Even the great BBC nature shows are now ruined by preaching ideology but at least they employ people with talent. The news organisation is just a bunch of activists with free (i.e. your) money who are actively working against the native people of this island. They would throw us all in the sea given the chance.
