I'm no Tory but i think Johnson will walk it.
Had Goves Class A drug revelation not come out he would've given BoJo some proper competition.

I have been a Boris supporter since this all kicked off as I think that he's the man to get us out of Europe but David Liddington made a couple of interesting points yesterday.

He asked who was the best person to be in charge of the country in the event of a security crisis and he also said that people should vote for the sort of person who would look after the interests of you and your family and I can't see Boris being the ideal man in either scenario.

I would never vote for Gove as whilst he may well have the largest intellect of all the candidates he is also a reptile and would never win a General Election.

All that leaves me well and truly in "don't know" territory

I think Boris, not great at department level, because that requires mastering a brief, but as CEO - much better. Also I want to see him taking on the withdrawl agreement issues, of which he has been so critical.

That is my feeling he's a big picture guy and not good at the detail. As long as he has good people around him to do that he should be OK apart from the occasional gaff.

What a thoroughly depressing range of options.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Whatever your views on Boris, surely no one believes he’s going to unite the country

Agreed, he will just be our version of Trump and cause things to escalate further although I really enjoy how the Emperor God makes his enemies self destruct at will.

That said I don't see any option than nuclear as regards to Brexit - it's got to happen now.

It certainly is. There is no-one there with the charisma needed to heal this divided nation of ours and get us all pulling in the same direction again. And heal it must. Whatever your personal view might be on Brexit everyone must accept that there are almost exactly the same number who disagree as agree with you. Politics cannot proceed smoothly, and maybe not at all, in such circumstances.

Indeed I don't see anyone in Parliament, let alone the Tory Party, who can do the healing.

The idea that any one of that group will become PM because a relatively small number of middle class citizens, mostly white, mostly older than average and mostly from the south of England, prefer them over another from the same group, is quite disturbing.

How they can then expect to negotiate a revised deal with an EU, which is itself in the middle of change, that satisfies everybody enough to heal the divisions beats me.

It looks to me as though we are headed into some very stormy waters in the coming months with a full blown constitutional crisis on the horizon.

I sense an "anyone but BoJo" movement could emerge in the coming days because if the Tory MPs allow his name to be one of the two choices then that's who the membership will choose, in their present mood. I suspect that the MPs know that with Johnson as PM we would end up with a mortally injured party, split down the middle which might never recover.

I fear that the Brexit crisis, bad as it already is, could easily get much worse.

I think Mrs May, and those around her, realised all of this which is why she stuck to her guns for as long as she did.

So the Conservative MPs having already thwarted the will of the people by holding up Brexit are now going to thwart their own membership by denying them the leader that the 200,000 members want.

Sounds like the Conservative party are about to press the self destruct button and will have no-one to blame but their own MPs

Boris Johnson is the only one out of the 10 who could persuade the 'don't really know how to vote voters' to vote Tory.
Also I hear that the EU are not impressed by any of the candidates for PM - No they wouldn't because we now have people who will put this great Country first and not walked around on a lead!

Bring back Brolin
