lets not also forget we do actually need to raise some money as we are losing it hand over foot.

we cant just magically expect owners to foot the bill.

if we sold nobody & signed nobody and spend no money on transfer fees this summer i would be as happy as a pig in s***...but i can guarantee there would be uproar from most if that was the case.

you cant have your cake, and eat it

Aaron Wan Bissaka is a one off and will get much much better. I would expect Steve Parish and the board to understand that to sell him now would be throwing away millions.......he is only 21 and will be hugely improved after another season, he will attract more media praise and attention and he will be an established premier league player; his value will skyrocket. It would be foolish to sell him for £60 or £65 million now. Also, I want to watch him play for Palace and not Man Utd!

Or... he tears an ACL week one. Doesn’t play all season and is worth nothing going forwards. Nothing is a certainty and this is great money

Selling your best players is only likely to get you relegated. Then the financial brown stuff will surely hit the fan.

Tottenham sold Bale
Liverpool sold Coutinho

They both profited.

Hrolf has decided that PL money is in some way infinite and when you’ve made that (incorrect) conclusion it leads to thinking we never need to sell ever. And unfortunately it means he can’t be reasoned with. As others have pointed out we have an unsustainable wage bill (even with PL income) and need to sell to keep afloat and/or reduce the wage structure.

also dont forget...if this goes thru this will mean that during our stint in the PL we will have actually made money, which is a very good thing from a longevity POV.

those who only rocked up in 2014 wont give a s***, but those who have lived thru 2 admins & other tough times will understand that football is a business & AWB is essentially an asset.

Have you seen the last few years' accounts? I haven't, so perhaps you could tell us how much money we're losing per week, or month, or whatever. I'm genuinely interested to know.

It’s amazing how politically conservative members are the opposite with club finances (Hrolf hugely). And then Gusset was in agreement with keeping club finances under control but given half the chance would bankrupt the country within a year if he was a Labour chancellor of the exchequer.

I remember in the new year i said we should look to selling both AWB and zaha this summer and using the money to reinvest in players, allowing roy to buy 4/5 he wants to complete his squad on targets we have been looking at for some time.

I was laughed out of here.

It's very obvious this season is a new chapter for us, zaha was always destined to go and awb was unknown 18 months ago, to think we've made 50 mil off him is crazy good - this is one reason why the acadamy is so important. Sure, he is talented, but we won't miss him if we bring a decent prem experienced or prospect in.

However, all i would say is this.. if we didn't have 7 managers in as many years, each buying their own players and changing things.... we could be in a position now where zaha doesn't want to go, where we can push on with the likes of awb and added investment to get us that top 7 finish.

Hopefully after this summer, we have a period of mid table football where we are looking at 7th, not 17th as the benchmark.

It’ll come as no surprise that clubs with decent player scouting also are good at spotting managers whereas we have bought mostly proven players and escape artist managers. It’s caught up with us but luckily we haven’t been relegated and AWB and Zaha offer a way of balancing the club and managing Wilf leaving before he’s either crocked or lost his edge or retired. I can’t say I’m confident though unless the manager makes the right choices.

50 million plus add ons and he has to go we could improve a few areas for that and become a better team ! It’s a total bonus he came from know where and the money raised will make us better. As for those saying Ward is not good enough he is a Solid player with lots of experience, we looked much stronger at the back when he replaced Patrick Van arnholt end of last season .........
