Sky sports reporting that Untied will go for Max Aarons if they fail to land AWB. However, if they do then Palace will move for Max Aarons: [Link]

Would be a fantastic signing should the worst happen and AWB leaves.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

Now that AWB should be moving to Man Utd for £55m I think we should go in fast for a replacement and who better than their backup option had they failed to get AWB

Aarons only broke into the Norwich team last season, so he is inexperienced at first team level and has never played in the PL.Only 19 and very promising and highly rated but it would be a gamble.

I can't see him leaving Norwich this season and if he did I don't think it would be for a fee we would be willing to pay.

Personally I'd like to see if Kyle Walker-Peters was available.

I guess Aarons would be about half the Wan Bissaka fee (long contract, young, Norwich in the prem now so no need to sell, English & multiple award winning last season).

If so, it really doesn’t make sense for us to spend that much on a right back. As a rule I think we should look to spend around £10m on a first team defender.

I think we'll be priced out of any move for him, plus the player might not see it as much of an elevation. With no top league experience I think what he'd cost would likely be too much.

If AWB goes then maybe we could just loan in someone like Reece James if they are available? Chelsea will unlikely sell but they might loan him.

Surely that just defers the problem of replacing him until next season.

We have had enough warning that AWB is likely to be sold so surely our scouting team must have sorted out one or more likely replacements by now

Saw him play for Wigan last season where he was deployed mostly in central midfield. He has scored from free kicks over a wall.He joined Chelsea at the age of 6 and started out as a striker.

We have Ward. Steady and did a great job before AWB. Remember who was on the line to stop a goal at the play off final.

Think with this lad and Ward together would be perfect, One youth, one experience.
