Sorry that was a bit elliptical. I simply meant it was a bit daft to exclude over 28s from transfers. I wasn’t calling for his return

He’s presumably really has had his day pretty much now but Rondon on his form this season wouldn’t be daft. He could likewise have an Indian summer - some players do get better with age.

Think Glenns had his swansong now, but will always be our worst transfer error, but if we could get rid of the deadwood i would give him a years contract on a free, think he has a lot to coach the younger forwards

Apparently Bergkamp is looking for a job coaching in England having successfully nurtured the talent at Ajax. Given his connection to London, if he didn't go to Arsenal maybe we could put in a cheeky offer to bring him in to develop our youngens? Given the form of our strikers it could even be a player/coach role

Any more thoughts on the policy we would like the club to adopt should we have £50m burning a hole in our pockets?

I am not a fan of option 2 "Buy players on high wages but on the fringes of a top 6 teams first eleven".

You often find that average players have a premium if they are from a big club. For example Phil Jones may move from Man United he's a decent enough player although injury prone but I doubt he is worth the salary he is currently on.

I would prefer we go for established younger players from lower league clubs. Players that are hungry for success and see Palace as a stepping stone to a bigger club. Probably not what most fans want to hear but I would rather that than a player who feels that he cannot do better than Palace.

I expect us to do what we always do. Waste it.

Transfer deal from Palace. Package Benteke with Zaha...want one you have to take both. Make Zaha's departure into a positive

I wonder what the fee for this dual deal would be i.e. how much would the receiving club expect us to pay them?

Invest in youth.

A good policy except now everyone else has seen the price demanded for AWB they’re all going to be looking for far more for their promising young players.

The only successful strategy is to do a blend of all three.

You will always need to buy a proven player and have experienced pros in the team, but of course unearthing some young exciting prospects and investing in youth is paramount to securing the clubs future.

I genuinely think the best investment we could make with the AWB money is to spend £5m of it on a complete overhaul of our scouting team because what we have been doing for the last few years clearly hasn't been working, especially in comparison to the teams we are competing with.

We should be looking at clubs like Watford, Leicester, RB Leipzig and Brentford as examples of excellent scouting infrastructures.

Good call. Had it not been for injuries we probably wouldn’t have scouted AWB from our own academy.

People will deny it, but it was FDB that gave AWB his first taste of first team football at wing back in the friendlies haha. He didn't look up to first team football at all in those first few friendlies. Give it a few months and in a back four and suddenly he bursts in as a wonderkid!!

First step is to establish one.

I haven't seen a coherent policy in place since we got promoted.
