Field was absolutely right in his reaction, what with the random attacks on politicians we've seen over the last few years. My only regret is that she wasn't given a good kicking as well.

Agreed. Hopefully the suspension is just procedural whilst an investigation concludes he's done f*** all wrong.

Once it's understood there's no physical threat, outside of self defence, no one should be putting hands on anyone other than security or the Police.

I have sympathy with the chap but I think a temporary suspension is about right.

However, the Jo Cox situation where an 'unknown individual' of 'unknown intent' gets close to a politician is worrying.

Hmm. A Solicitor and member of the Government that thinks grabbing someone and then giving them the bum's rush - once it's clear they carry no actual threat - is a sensible move. No doubt fuelled by alcohol and wanting to be a 'hero'.

Maybe just stopping her in her tracks would have been enough. Ask the professionals what the protocol is.

Shame he appeared to grab her in the breast as well, that kind of adds fuel.

Good point unfortunately they were nowhere in sight. Trained security know how to tackle people as you say, he wasn't and acted out of instinct and probably anger. That's why we have security to stop members of the public making situations worse.

Personally I would prosecute her and the rest of the mob.

But what if the chancellor was also carrying acid and preempted this hypothetical acid attack by throwing acid in her face?

So many exciting what ifs.

You've been worryingly rational on occasion this week mate.

Give over, he grabbed her arm and back of neck and walked her out.

Entirely appropriate and proportionate response.

Would you have found his actions acceptable if she had been a man behaving in the same manner?

This is a political argument now.
Check on this thread which political persuasion thinks whether it was or wasnt justified.
I bet if it was a tart in a TR tee shirt it would have been the correct thing to do. Irony is strange.
She now thinks that Mr field should go to anger management classes ,personally she should f*** off and get a life the stupid idiot.
I would laugh mytits off if it comes out that she has form and all you appeasers can suck one then.
