Once it's understood there's no physical threat, outside of self defence, no one should be putting hands on anyone other than security or the Police. I have sympathy with the chap but I think a temporary suspension is about right. However, the Jo Cox situation where an 'unknown individual' of 'unknown intent' gets close to a politician is worrying. Once it's understood there's no physical threat, outside of self defence, no one should be putting hands on anyone other than security or the Police.

I have sympathy with the chap but I think a temporary suspension is about right.

However, the Jo Cox situation where an 'unknown individual' of 'unknown intent' gets close to a politician is worrying.

This is a political argument now. Check on this thread which political persuasion thinks whether it was or wasnt justified. I bet if it was a tart in a TR tee shirt it would have been the correct thing to do. Irony is strange.
