Does anyone know what our financial position is in terms on FFP. If we had to generate some money, selling AWB was unfortunately the only realistic option, anyway does anyone really think Ole will crack it at Manu, new manager for them by Christmas, AWB unsettled and back with us by next summer for less than half the price. I would be far more gutted if we had to sell Wilf and hopefully there is no need to and we can push on and have a great season.

The oddest thing for me with the AWB transfer is that he’s gone to Utd for a record fee for a full back, their 5th most expensive transfer ever yet he’s only on £80k a week. If they value him at £50m then you’d have to think he’s worth closer to £150k a week. I mean fat Luke Shaws new contract was reported to be £160k. I get money isn’t everything and it’s still a lot of money but his agents done a rubbish job when you think clowns like Jones and Fred are on double what he is.

About 8 times what he was on here so academic about how much Man Ure was willing to pay him as that is more than enough to prise him away. Whilst it is a big transfer fee, sad day to see a raised, quality player leave after only really a season. Worry if Wilf leaves the fold we could do a Swansea. We will just have to see. COYP !!

If someone headhunted you for a position at their company and it was on 8 times what you were currently earning but you knew that everyone else there was earning double that for the same job, you’d have every right to negotiate a far larger wage, especially if they’d broken a record to get you there showing how much they value what you do.

I think he’ll be alright.

Oh fantastic. Produce great players for other clubs.

That should make fans really happy on a Saturday.

Interesting that your cure for all the club's ills is money but you still can't accept that while we are short of that, as we presently are, you don't see this as a sustainable way of running the club.

It’s the complete opposite of Hrolf’s fiscal conservatism in politics.

Quite.

I dont like it but while there are 6 clubs with incomes like a small countrys GDP this strategy will keep us both profitable and in the top flight.

We need to progress our youth players and give them the chance if we are hamstrung into buying players.

We have had Moses, Clyne and now AWB and of course Wilf. We sold Moses and Clyne because we were in dire straights. With AWB I am not so sure if we needed to, or if the offer was to irresistible to turn down. The club leave everyone to assume and Parish very rarely tells it how it is.

Good luck to AWB and I hope they give him the chance to thrive, unlike the treatment that Wilf got from Man Utd. I still think AWB was sold too early and United are in flux at the moment and trying to play catch up with Man City. Still say Ole will be sacked before the Christmas decorations go up!

We’ve reported losses, due to the wage bill and hefty transfers of recent years due to January emergencies and never scouting sufficiently, and further have barely sold anybody. That’s why we’ve sold AWB. Reality. The radio or pundits claiming we didn’t need to sell conveniently leave out vital details like finances for their 3 minute comments, just as managers generally aren’t interested. The fans and owners are around for longer. Well most of us are.

I don't support a football club to be a pragmatist.

It is escapism.

My pleasure is to see my team win games, ideally with style, and move forward.

You people can all deliberate the virtues of selling quality players if you want but I will only mourn what could have been...Again.
