This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle So where does his love of Arsenal come from? He came from Ivory Coast at age 4. Grew up and went to school in Thornton Heath. Been at Palace since he was 12. Am I missing something? Is there a quote from Wilf somewhere in the distant past?

If he has said he wants to leave has he put in a transfer request ? Personally I think he wants to go....far to much smoke not to be any fire. Let’s get the most we can for him and move on as quickly as possible. What if ‘most we can [get] for him’ is way off our valuation? Let’s say £55-60 mil? That’s not enough in today’s market. I argued with Hrolf early in this window that player power does exist and often get its way, or in this case, agent or disrespectful and liberty taking ‘bro’ power, but this must only be allowed if they get close enough to our valuation for money and reputation reasons. I’ve criticised Parish loads in the past but one thing he doesn’t do is sell cheap. We’ve hardly sold any actually, but when we do, we don’t get fisted like we used to. Sit tight. Arsenal will be made to dig deeper if they want him.

Arsenal is THE main club for black men due to having successful black players dating back to Michael Thomas and David Rocastle, Ian Wright (puke). If you asked every year group at Palace which club they supported, you’d be lucky if you found 10% being palace fans. Wilf was here through dark times under Jordan and one season in the Prem. Not really the same dream as playing for Arsenal who were on tv all the time challenging Man Utd and succeeding. Sadly for Wilf they’re sh1t compared to then and have no ambition to spend or anything more than fleece the fans who’ve just reached the front of the season ticket waiting list, unless thousands don’t renew or boycott Arsenal.

As long as Arsenal do the decent thing and pay what we want, I will happy with that. Our pre- season looks like it is turning into a car crash. Without any contingency plan in replacing AWB and Wilf and less than a few weeks of the window to go, I think the writing is on the wall. Let the “ wait and see brigade “ clear their throats, but they are living in dreamland.
