For those of us who appreciate reviews of movies and media that doesn't come from a left wing perspective here's a YouTube reviewer who I've started watching.

He rather entertainingly looks a lot like that presenter who used to work with Allen Carr...that guy who use to say 'good times' a lot....anyway I digress.

He does the occasional movie review and commentary on the creative process.

But here he tackles the culture war within the US entertainment industry.....and it's an interesting video for those of us who don't get semis each time Corbyn farts.

As someone who doesn't get a semi whenever any politician farts, let alone Corbyn, I watched the video on the so called "culture wars" from "David V Stewart" on YouTube.

Rarely, if ever, have I seen so much conspiracy theory presented as fact.

He starts with an assumption, presents it as though it is an indisputable fact, and then goes, via a series of assertions, to build a whole case upon it.

Interesting it certainly is, but only because of the way it highlights how some on the right perceive things.

When somebody suggests that Fox is beginning to lean too far to the left and that the communists are taking over the movie industry, we need to call in the ghostbusters to find the ghost of McCarthy.

This guy seems to be been invaded by his spirit.

That anyone actually takes him seriously is scary.

This is a channel for those on the right or social conservatives, not for the left or commies.

Just an observation!

So far as I am aware YouTube doesn't impose any conditions at all on who can, or who cannot, watch it's content, let alone do so on the grounds of their assumed political beliefs. Seeking to close the door on other political perspectives observing your own is one of the first signs of a self righteous malign movement, afraid of challenge.

I'm not one who believes in suppression of political thought. So I'm just stating, that this channel is meant for those interested in media or creatives who reject the politically 'progressive' mindset currently residing in Hollywood and corperations.

Nothing wrong with those who support the status quo watching it.

Another observation.

As all the major movie corporations are public companies surely their sole purpose is to deliver value to their shareholders?

That being so they must base their decisions solely on commercial considerations and not at all on politics. Their test must be what will produce the biggest return on the investment.

Actors act. They don't control what they say or how they say it. Some use their fame and fortune to subsequently enter politics but they are far from all on the left that do that. Clint Eastwood comes to mind but also consider how many US Presidents have ridden to the White House on the back of exposure on the screen. How many Democrats? I can't think of one! I can though think of two recent Republicans in Reagan and Trump.

This would be the union leader Ronald Reagan who led the Screen Actors Guild through three strikes. Quite the right wing firebrand then.

I simply can't be bothered to argue 2+2 with the disingenuous. People who have watched the video and modern movies and modern corporations can read these perspectives and draw their own conclusions about what the real state of play is.

Signed the amnesty for illegal immigrants in 86 promising that allowing citizenship for those already there would solve the problem and that with tighter security at the Mexican border and with employers facing stricter penalties they could stop the illegal flow......that certainly worked didn't it.

Thank god for the Internet.....it saves the lies for posterity.

Was he a Republican or a Democrat?

That was the only point I made! Not what he did outside of acting before he used his fame to promote himself. In fact he co-operated in trying to identify communists within the industry so he was pretty right wing even then.
