Good signing if intended as a squad player, hopefully bigger signings still to come though.

We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold...

I have heard that some transfer activity could be concluded by the middle of next week but heaven knows if they will actually get over the line.I live in hope more than expectancy.

Words cannot do justice to how angry I feel about this. What the hell are the club playing at? I thought we couldn't afford to sign players because our wages are too high so what do we do - we sign a player from Swansea where his wages were described as 'crippling'? I wouldn't mind if it was someone decent - yet this is a player who started 14 PL games for us and came on as sub in 6 and scored the grand total of 1 goal (and that was offside). We already have ssveral non-scoring strikers. Instead of someone we know is no good, why not take a risk on Maupay or Roofe or another Championship striker who actually knows how to score a goal and who won't want crazy wages? The sooner Hodgson, Freedman, Parish and co depart, the better, as we will go down with this squad.

What a shocker. Something ain't right behind the scenes. He was terrible last last season. Unbelievable that we've signed him on a permanent.

Someone said he loves Palace. I love Palace too but that doesn't mean I should be on the pitch.

I’m not knocking this signing because it is essential to have backup that accepts backup as well.

But I got that sinking feeling after opening the club email just now about ‘Ghanaian International Joins On Three-Year Deal’, only to find it’s Jordan Ayew who we knew about werk(s) ago.

When do we get the super signing filmed on top of the Soho offices? Lol.

I am sure he does after being rewarded with a 3 year contract after his performances last season !

I think JA is a pragmatic acquisition for a squad that obviously needs some experienced strength in depth.
After last season's loan, the club knows exactly what they are getting, on and off the field. And the quoted price of £2.5m (if accurate) in today's market place is very modest for a player with 100 Prem games and 16 goals.
There has been a reference to a quote from Swansea referring to his "cripplingly high wages", however I would take that to be in the context of Swansea now now being a Championship side.
Hopefully we will be looking at a few more signings before the start of the season.

Well primarily because they would cost 10x as much and are completely untested in the Prem.

Get a grip.

Excellent.

Now we a player who can make the rest of the team look good.
Every club needs one.

Seriously, this is a symptom of our current state.

He is cheap, alive and desperate and that is why we signed him.

Perhaps, but they'd still be a better option than Ayew. How much will it cost us if we go down?

Do you know what his wage is, in this contract? For £2.5m is a no brainer, as he was here last season and obviously fits in.

Hopefully there is a relegation clause in his contract as there can’t have been in his contract with Swansea.
That said I don’t think we will go down as long as we keep Zaha.
