Carl Beech today starts an 18 year sentence.

However, where are the proportional consequences for those that spent 2 frigging years and 2 million pounds of tax payer money and ruined the reputation of people, some who were still living at the time but are now dead.....all based upon claims....that while should have been investigated turned out to have no credible evidence behind them.

Yet we have a police service which publicly supported these allegations......publicly.

This guy, aside from his dangerous paedophilia, is a fruit cake.....yet once again, we have an establishment that values covering its arse far more than it does treating evidence upon a rational basis.

People in positions of power who make bad decisions which are partly motivated by emotive activists, gossip passed around as fact and attention seekers in the media need to face proportional consequences. I don't want an establishment that remains unscathed from incompetence and protects itself and deflects.....any society based upon meritocracy should be adjusting and demoting those who aren't sensible.

People suffered from this incompetence and there needs to be consequences as we clearly don't have the best brains in our decision making positions.

Starting with Tom Watson.

Imagine our shock.

This is from the 'Operation Midland' wiki page.

An inquiry by the retired judge Sir Richard Henriques found in November 2016 that the Metropolitan Police made numerous errors, stating: "In short, these men are all victims of false allegations and yet they remain treated as men against whom there was insufficient evidence to prosecute them. The presumption of innocence appears to have been set aside."

Northumbria Police later began investigating Beech (Nick) for allegedly perverting the course of justice. The Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, Bernard Hogan-Howe personally apologised to Bramall and said that "Although police knew from very early on they had no case to answer they couldn't stop investigating because they didn't want to be accused of not investigating it properly."

The investigation, he stated, had been an over-reaction to "apparent mistakes back in 2012 relating to revelations of very serious and serial child abuse, a mixture of public outrage and propaganda" which "put immense pressure through the Home Secretary, on the police". Bramall believed that a "witch-hunt culture [had arisen] in which child abuse, particularly historic child abuse, came to be dealt with entirely differently to other criminal offences".]

Hogan-Howe also apologised to Proctor and Lady Brittan, stating, "They have all suffered as a result of the investigation and our description of the allegations as ‘credible and true’. We should not have said this."[4]

The Metropolitan Police agreed in September 2017 to pay compensation of around £100,000 to Lord Bramall and Lady Brittan, widow of Leon Brittan, in acknowledgement that their arrests and house raids had been wrongful and unjustified. Harvey Proctor was reported to be seeking compensation of over £500,000.[

It states that the Met 'agreed to pay'.....however, the Met pay nothing, the public tax payer pays everything.

Randoms in the public who make attention seeking statements because of whatever reason are one thing.....but when you get people in positions of power acting without evidence and spending vast sums....without evidence.....Sorry, it isn't good enough.

Those that support and enable this stuff should themselves receive criticism as fence gossips.

Well, they are a bit short staffed...

''14 London boroughs have vacancy rates of over 6%, with five facing double digit deficits. Harrow is shown to have the highest percentage of vacancies, with 15% of its sergeant and constable posts unfilled. Waltham Forest had the highest overall number, with 72 vacancies from a force of 664.''

The bottom of the 3rd paragraph fits in to a bit of why the grooming gangs were not pursued when reported. It wasnt historic. Poor show.

Basically, heads should roll for this, but as always with public services, they will no doubt be allowed to 'retire' so it doesn't spoil their nice gold-plated pension pot.

So the police can say they believe this guy before it has gone to court. Maybe those police should be going to court as this is no different to the contempt of court TR supposedly broke and went to jail.
By the police saying they believe the victim they potentially effect the coast case.

Staffing problems are real this has nothing to do with staffing levels. This has to do with the type of people being promoted into managemental positions and their ideological culture and the cultures of those that they listened to...a deviation away from hard nosed unbiased evidence based Policing......basically similar to what the report exposed.

These are problems I and others on the right have been complaining about for years.

With more staff they probably would have spent even more money down the drain......it isn't the solution to the problems here.

The Police's interactions with the media has been a major problem for many years now.

They actually care about how they are perceived and this attitude has been rewarded by politicians who are prepared to sell them down the line when its convenient......and promote people prepared to shape the Police culturally away from what they actually should only be interested in.

The reaction to doing to little for decades appeared to result in the very opposite, believing whatever this fruitcake said.

A copper should always be able to justify their actions from the quality of the evidence.

Judgements upon too little or too much are resultant from that....meritocracy should be the barometer to their judgement.....I'm of the view that other factors have been considerations for many years now.
