Wilf must stay a season.

No, the reason it won't happen is because a) Everton haven't bid for a second time. And b) No club wants him enough to put a serious bid in for him. Looks like we are stuck with a player who does not want to play for us.

That is now 5 teams with only two actually submitting bids which were of course wide of the mark and unacceptable. No statement from Wilf, no statement from Parish. The next week or so cannot pass quickly enough. If any truth in the story that his advisers are trying to get him a move there it would be very worrying. You can't really say you want to play for your boyhood club, Arsenal, & then try to rock up at their biggest rivals & expect to be welcomed with open arms. Are Wilf's advisers that stupid?
