Which is another reason why you, in particular, posted it.

Maybe it will be less frequented because this is one case in an institution whereas the pakistani rape gang cases are in double figures, involve far more victims and new examples keep arriving on a regular basis.

They also involve racism against White people plus the added scandal of being covered up by local authorities.

Nonsense

I have posted about this issue for a long time. It really frustrates me that the only time it really gets aired it is for the wrong reasons

As I have said multiple times, I grew up shoulder to shoulder with the children at Shirley Oaks and it was clear even to me as a small child that something was horribly wrong. I still see people from that time, they won't talk about what happened there.

So when yet another of these comes into the public arena I want us to talk about it. Normally that doesn't happen unless there is a side agenda.

Shame on me my arse. You see it, you live with it, you get angry, you hate the way it becomes corrupted into some other narrow minded debate.

That all well and good Maple, it’s your starting line I have issue with. This site could manage to change a Santa clause thread into a race argument in less than a page so why start it provocatively?

In my opinion it detracts from a serious topic.

These days I post less and less on anything remotely political or newsworthy as they all manage to end up in a race argument so I don’t really see the need to start another.

Enjoy your evening.

It happened but as wissy says it needs proving in court.
For all is known some of these accusers might be fibbing.
Recent jailing of a liar should surely mean care and due diligence is needed
the truth needs to be found out in a court of law because innocent carers and foster families could be implicated in something they were not involved in.

We can debate this once you have had the chance to read about it

Here's a start:

The inquiry found in one home inspected in the early 1990s "all children resident over a 12-month period were found to have been exposed to harmful sexual behaviour".

From the late 1970s to this year, 16 residential staff and 10 foster carers were convicted of sexual abuse of children in their care.

Thank you Tom

The reason I wrote as I did is that I have been sick to the pit of my stomach with the way these issues only get raised for point scoring. They are endemic, they are multiple, they aren't limited to any specific group, they involve incredibly vulnerable people - both boys and girls and it is the boys I heard from regarding Shirley Oaks - yet I doubt this would have made it onto these boards without me agitating.

I posted the point as I did exactly because it was obvious this would be your reaction. Put simply, like the heroic Tommy Robinson, you really aren't that engaged in concerns about child abuse in general.

To imply that all the new cases are pakistanis is ridiculous. And to imply that this is a one-off is similarly either myopic or just wilful misrepresentation. I recommend you read my earlier posts on this topic on other threads to see the scale and number of such cases over decades. You could argue that abuse of people inside institutions is actually most heinous, these poor girls and boys had no other life and nowhere to turn. They spent their whole days and nights in mortal fear. Shall I introduce you to one so you can see the look in his eyes?

Really? How would you know that?

I've been out all day and just read this.

You very well may have an excuse for yourself but it's a reality that posters have been bringing up child abuse topics on these boards since I've been on them and I'm sure many years before.

No one knew about the Islamic rape gangs before 2013 on here that I'm aware of and the terrible crime of child abuse has always been with us.

This case exposures a problem with children centres that has been discussed through the years. This story found its way onto the front page of the BBC website and I'm sure one of us would have picked it up.

This case ties in with the problems children centres have in recruitment around vulnerable children and the problems centres have in dealing with historical cases that are only now being publicised.

It's important that the information processed is done so rationally and carefully and where some compensation can make a difference and lessons can be applied and cases pursued that this is done.

You know it's really quite off to suggest that another poster isn't concerned about child abuse.

The Tommy Robinson situation is different from this and your disingenuous and irrational point here has previously been answered but it's noted that you ignore and repeat what you prefer to believe.

Tell me about the recruitment problems Stirling. As far as I am concerned these cases relate to Governance.

Have you seen the Shirley Oaks compensation?

I unashamedly repeat that Robinson is in no way a campaigner about child abuse and his approach to the topic perverts the discussion badly.

And I did not say not concerned I said not engaged unless it furthers a specific tightly held view.

Oh, and how long should it take to process the information? After over 50 years we still have minimal justice. If people truly cared I am sure this could have gone a tad faster.
