I feel we’ll have to be selling and buying a bit cheaper to evolve the team and get through the sale of Zaha, or spread the total money for more players on lower wages, but if we do that with all of them and they happen very close together then we’re really vulnerable. Think about it again. The whole of the spine of the team. Luka and Benteke or new def mid and striker at the same time, Sakho maybe off to France, Tomkins who knows. If we had our act in gear with knowlyof who we’d replace any of our players with then I’d be more confident. Is anyone honestly confident?

Does he want a new deal ? Has he seen the writing on the wall, 1 star player sold and the other maybe going to . Lack of any investment in the squad. The current squad is far weaker than last season. Would you want to spend your best years with a team lacking ambition to improve ? Could be the way he sees it.

He’s our engine room, when he ticks and covers the middle of the park we look good. As for penalty taking, say no more... The club should give him what he wants and in truth deserves. What are the club doing letting his contract rundown. We sure as hell know Dougie won’t unearth a replacement of his calibre ...

If Luka is down below Dann he has a right to be looking for an increase
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Blimey! If that is true - and I've no reason to doubt you John - then we are lost. I think he is replaceable but for pities' sake - he's easily worth what Tomkins or Dann is paid. I think he's a lot harder to replace than some people are saying. An absolutely pivotal part of the midfield. I hope that whatever contract issues exist are resolved very, very soon.

Some people think football is a matter of life and death. I don't like that attitude. I can assure them it is much more serious than that. |
