Just watched this interesting video which suggests that renewables aren't only expensive...with most of the cost falling on the poorer but they aren't even that efficient at producing power and have significant affects on the environment.

As I understand it, there is no way that the current options of non fossil, non nuclear energy sources can get anywhere meeting increasing energy demands. Therefore their proliferation will do little to reduce the problems associated with traditional energy production while creating new environmental problems.

We need a game changing energy source very soon to save our arses or we are screwed.

Where is that alien technology when you need it?

If the video says all that (I haven't watched it) then it is using the same reasoning.

If there is interest in looking into renewables country by country, the attached graphs of energy sources by country over time may be worth a look

I find it pretty funny that we don't use our flooding/ fast flowing rivers to create energy. One would think a few modern turbines would create a hell of a lot of free/ cheap electricity.
Ancient civilisations used water wheels, the factories/ mills of the industrial revolution used them but we seem to prefer expensive massive wind farms that are costly to maintain, an eyesore and a nuisance and incredibly inefficient. The French model of nuclear power seems to have far less problems than everyone else's.

And a lot more cheaply compared to green.....India are looking at a load of Thorium reactors....could be the way forward before fusion.

Renewables just don't cut it for large populations.....it has been a waste of money for the state to pursue on the scale it has.

Yes, Polish ecigs would be a great replacement. You should write a manifesto about it.
