Yeah, I love the sneering at Tony Benn when he got rid of his title and surnames. He did it to stay in Parliament, a Tory toff did it as well (Alec Douglas Home) to become Prime Minister. Thatcher minister John Selwyn Gummer later became just John Gummer.

Move on please.

There are two fundamental things that have changed that a lot of people that are not paying attention still don't recognize and understand. (1) The left/Labour has switched from a working class movement designed to protect working class rights to an extremist socialist/Marxist movement that wants to destroy capitalism - this is something they themselves don't even deny and (2) The right is reacting to this (pushing in the other direction in a vain effort to try and balance this out). That is why you are seeing the rise of white identitarians. If the left make everything about race then this is inevitable.

The trajectory we are on in the West is clear. The left is pushing for open borders in order to change demographics that will vote them in due to the various welfare states (the neo liberals won't stop this as they get mass cheap labour and can't see beyond the next financial quarter) . At some point soon unless something changes there *will* only be socialist governments in the west. History will tell you what happens next. The current proliferation of censorship e.g. "hate speech" law, should be a red flag to everyone.

I suspect her tongue is firmly in her cheek and the reason she is doing it is to make the point that a new direction is needed to make sure we don't plunge over the cliff edge in a myopic mist of testosterone induced male vanity.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

I suspect the consensus she is looking for is that we should remain.

Perhaps someone might remind Caroline we just had a female PM she was a disaster and also the worst Home Secretary in years.

I don't buy into the women are better at building consensus in politics then men. In my experience peoples personalities nudge them to certain career paths.

If you have a kind caring personality you will gravitate to the NHS or equivalent role. If you have a big ego and believe you can make changes politics will be your thing. Putting a nurse in charge of the country would be a disaster because she would dither and would be unable to make the tough decisions. Likewise I would not want Maggie Thatcher as my nurse.

If you look at the successful female leaders they all make the same tough decisions that men make. Merkel isn't exactly a push over.
