Don't belittle yourself.

It was an insult. It may have been disguised as an observation but the intention beneath the cloak was clear enough.

Your, and your chum's, take on this is somewhere between irrationality and invention. You extrapolate figures from dubious, or unnamed, sources, apply your own logic to maximise the consequences, and then present the results as facts.

I suppose an observation can be insulting if you choose to see it that way.

Neither of us will see the consequences Wisbech but I'd rather plan for the worst case scenario than kid myself that everything will be OK with little reason for such optimism.

We all have different ones which makes this forum work.

Oh we all have opinions about the posters here. Most times I don't express mine though because that's not addressing the post, it's addressing the poster.

When someone posts a negative comment about someone else that's not an opinion. It's an insult.

If you really don't understand why then I suggest you sign up for a suitable evening class. They start again in September.

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

I regret to tell you that in our case the proof that it is a gauge of wisdom is clear for everyone to see, just so long as they possess the eyes and brain to see it.

Sadly that doesn't seem to include too many regular posters in these threads.

Is that an insult or an observation?

You would think that because you appear to have no capacity for objectivity.

Sadly, or perhaps not, we won't be around to say I told you so.

He wouldn't care even if that were possible, he'd just come up with more pin dancing and 'jam tomorrow' BS.

We often get told on here by a certain Hol demographic that a focus upon high immigration is out of step with the views of the populous.

I and others have often argued back that this is incorrect....You would think that the Brexit result would have cemented this in...but never underestimate some people's willingness to deny reality.

Well....The European Commission has a 'Eurobarometer' survey, a twice-annually inquiry into the opinions of over 27,000 Europeans.

It asked people in 33 countries what their main concerns were for the European Union, and found worries over immigration to be the clear winner.

Some 34 per cent of Europeans said immigration was one of their top concerns in 2019, putting the issue comfortably ahead of the competition for another year.
