Agree some of the comments on here about him since AWB's departure are a joke and he's never let us down. But also we need more cover.

I thought Fosu-Mensah's pace was an asset when he was with us despite other limitations and would have been a decent option. Tomkins has played there a few years ago for West Ham IIRC and I think Kouyate could be alright there at a push.

It was criminally negligent not to get cover at RB and LB plus another striker. At some point in the season Ward is going to get injured

Kelly and Schlupp are able and willing, we mustn't forget that we are not going to be able to compete financially as well as many other teams in this league for the time being, we must be realistic and understand our position.

I’m happy for Wardy.

Until such time , he will do a good job.

People are too quick to want to move on without appreciating what they have.

More of the same Wardy !

Prove the doubters wrong!

In the worst scenario there is January as you fully understand where we will be able to bring in someone.

Lot of points to play for before then and being fvcked over in January is one of the reasons young AWB has not been replaced.

Lots of points to play for with Ward as RB, Kelly and Tomkins can fight over it if Joel becomes lame, really do not need to waste any more money.

Yes we do and should have done with the £43M left over following our other purchases. This is a key position and none of the players you have mentioned come anywhere near the quality required to compete in this league.

Bring back Brolin

They are good enough to keep us out of the bottom three which is where we are at the moment along with nine other clubs.

Agreed. I am assuming that Zaha will go to Chelsea or to a European team in January, and we should crossed fingers see 3 or 4 additional players come in including RB LB striker and wide player etc. Tuesday if Ward gets injured between now and January...I suppose Kelly could cover, but down to the bare bones...

I think with all our central midfielders maybe Kouyate could play there also, at a push
