Just enjoy the premiership because like most (all really) sides outside the top 6/8 we will return to the championship. Be realistic rather than moaning. Look at the championship, it’s full of sides that have been in the prem and look at the prem it’s full of sides that have been and will be back in the championship at some time. Enjoy it now and accept that one day this run will be over. The main thing is that we survive to fight another day and return like so many sides do :-)

We are a London club with one of the richest catchment areas in terms of footballing talent. We don’t have any local rivals as big as us. We have spent 7 years consecutively in the PL, we should be taking this opportunity to kick on and establish ourselves as more than a championship club here to enjoy the ride.

We accept that we’ll be relegated some time, but like you say, us making it more likely through the club’s incompetence, once, twice, three, four times and more without the cover we’ll inevitably need and get in January after it’s abundantly clear to Parish we’re fvcked without that cover. Repeat repeat repeat repeat.

The right back issue will come back to haunt us, we got great money for AWB granted, so we sold our Maserati and have replaced him with no one.

If Dougie and SP aren’t searching for one now, so once the transfer window opens again, then they are not doing their job. Unless of course we have another gem coming through the ranks/ youth set up?

CPFC is more than capable of being an established mid table PL club provided we have the right Chairman to drive the club forward. The revenue is huge in PL, it is sad to say but over the last seven years we have been mismanaged and have wasted loads of cash and not really had any plan. Sainsbury was once just a small corner shop but the owner had a vision and made it happen. Please do not live in the past which we cannot change, however the future for the better can, we just have to have the right people to take us forward. Sadly that will never be Parish/Freedman!

It's a bit weird being a Palace supporter.
Case in point; look at our rivals today, Everton. Look how much money they are spending and have spent over the past 5/6 years. What have they won?
With that in mind what is the real difference of being constantly mid/upper table or mid/bottom table. Yes there is the increased likelihood of relegation, but, imo we have a strong enough squad to stay up.

I'm not saying we shouldn't be trying, but and this is a big but, if the Directors are trying to get through the next 5-8 years being tight, saving and creating a massive pot for the next manager (Mourinho hopefully ) then we will need to spend big. I can't quite understand how we can't spend £40m every year, without having to sell anyone. That seems a pretty standard amount for everyone else.

Hopefully, we can stay up sell Wilf for £85m next year and bring in the quality players we need.

Not going to go down this season or the next, cannot see any reason why anyone would think we will personally.

We have all - me included - been disappointed with this window but when you think about the starting X1 yesterday you have the subs and injured players to come in so

Wilf
Tomkins
Sakho
Cayhill
Mcarthy
Cameras? Is that his name
Wickham
Schlupp

So on paper it is not as bad it seems!

Criminal that there was nobody lined up to replace AWB, but I think Parish was blinded by the money on offer. I don't think he expected to get so much from anybody. Then in true Palace style we had a failed bid for Reece James and then our interest in Clyne was ended by his injury.

Parish/Freedman could have taken the view that Kelly can cover Ward at right back and Schlupp can cover PVA at left back.
We have plenty of options in central defence and midfield.
That leaves the forwards. If Benteke and Wickham don’t deliver by Christmas we still have the option to loan or purchase a striker in the January window.
It’s a calculated gamble with risks attached but it’s a policy they have employed in recent windows whether we like it or not.

There must be someone in the u23's ready to make a breakthrough/given a chance to prove themselves.

Does anyone have any views on who maybe ready to make the jump particuarly at right back?

AWB came from nowhere..!!
