Ooh, was he? I can’t imagine anyone finding him an irritating little squirt and losing their rag with him.

However, if this was indeed a premeditated attack it is really worrying

I have no idea whether Owen Jones was really attacked or that if he were attacked that it was politically motivated.

However if he were attacked I don't support that as he should be free to go about his business same as anyone else.

However, he has been stroking the culture war for years. I remember him tweeting about the public 'sucker' punching of Richard Spencer and stating:

'Some of the comments along the lines of violence solves nothing. Park the incident involving the neo Nazi dweeb and his little green frog badge. Do you seriously think Adolf Hitler was defeated by people sitting around singing, 'Kumbaya'?'

Indeed, whilst Jones blamed the far right the account he gave the BBC says nothing to indicate that it was political so how does he know that?

Did they speak to him? Abuse him as a lefty? Did he recognise any of them? Apparently not.

Whoever did this should be identified and prosecuted I must admit I wouldn't know Owen Jones if he walk past me in fact I still don't know who he is and why I should care about his opinions however he has the right as every citizen does to go about that business in safety.

If it was a far right assault well those people are idiots every society has their share of violent thugs.

One more point

Would have thought the way he talks and reacts to people would be enough to get him knocked out regardless of his politics but that would remove any responsibility/victim hood on his part.
