It has to be the punt on Sturridge. I don't see how we can possibly lose that situation?

Sign him on a 1 year deal - I know he won't sign pay as you play, it's unrealistic but gets touted around by fans often. Worst case scenario he gets 5 games all season.

That's 5 games we'd have a significantly higher chance of scoring. To put it into context, had he been in Ayew's position on Saturday and scored, at the end of the season we'd have another 2 points. If that was his only contribution, it'd probably be worth the wages, especially if it's tight from 7 downwards like last season.

If Sturridge stayed fit we'd be so comfortably avoiding relegation it's untrue.

Has this been suggested anywhere in the media at something Palace are looking at? It seems to make too much sense but I'd love to get him in. I'm guessing we'll be disappointed come September?

Saw an article, in the telegraph, that 13 clubs are looking at Sturridge, we were not mentioned. Fenerbachce seem favorites, having offered a £60K a week contract.

Simon Jordan not impressed, divisive character.

They said no PL club was included in the 13 clubs interested. That’s quite telling

I was all over this signing but the fact that no club in the PL has allegedly offered him a deal is absolutely telling. Especially us seeing as Roy has worked with him in the past, the Turkish offer is around 60k per week which isn’t unreasonable (about what Schlupp’s on)

The fact he can’t find a club says a lot about what people think of him and for once maybe Jordan is speaking some sense from his position in the footballing world.

If he is still available, I'd definitely take a punt on Sturridge
If he's a selfish prick in front of goal, so what? Bats was hardly a pass-first guy, is 3rd string at Chelsea and yet many fans would have the team pay 30 million to get him back
As for being a divisive character in the dressing room, I hardly imagine it is all hugs and kisses anyways. A few goals and wins would probably help
Of course, the downside is that Hodgson would not play him for a couple of months

I haven't seen us linked to any free agents and Parish stated our business was done.

Parish has got to be lying as he cannot seriously thinks that having not replaced the 6 squad players we lost in the summer with upgrades is OK...

I counted we had a squad of 23 without academy u23s. We did not use a second loan option which I suppose could be used for desperation in Jan, but we seriously need a goal scorer with our now bolstered midfield.

To be honest, if yesterday’s performance is anything to go by, signing Sturridge, Llorente or signing one of the top strikers in the world is not really going to make a lot of difference is it. It all boils down to the manager and the way he approaches every game. If the managers tactics and technical ability and training methods are outdated, then the best players in the world are going to struggle.

We didn't use 1 loan, camarassa is an overseas loan, we still had 2 English loans to use.

Aaah, I thought it was 2 loans altogether. We will probably hold back one for Bats in Jan as that's 2 squads he was not included in now. Tammy seems to be preferred.

Looks like Sturrudge will be off to Turkey and Llorente to Italy.

Neither are answer.

Sadly, new management is perhaps the first step to going forward.
