I thought he did his usual heart shape thing with his hands followed by the phone thing. No idea why, think he was just happy and didn't know what else to do.

Optimistic as ever

As an armchair viewer for Saturday’s game, I couldn’t interpret PVA’s goal celebration. From some angles he seemed to be having a go at someone, except that he would have been in front of the Palace fans. Then there was a phone gesture.

Anyone any idea what it was about?

Perhaps inviting random Palace fans to join him in the back of his Roller for some Amyl Nitrate-fuelled celebrations afterwards?

Who knows? He's been working hard to dispel the memories of his one-man horror show against Brighton in the Cup and looks like he's enjoying life (and the results bonuses) under Roy, so fair play to him.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

Is this a racier version of “Come and have a go if you think you’re hard enough”?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

I do know that he's pretty good at scoring when given the opportunity.

I was unfortunate enough to endure the humiliation at Ashton Gate earlier in the year. I would have happily seen PVA fall on an actual sword after that performance.

His play now is unrecognisable. In a very good way. I know there are arguments for a few players for this coveted award - there's an enormous thread on Wayne saying more or less this - but PVA gets my Most Improved Player of the Year Award.

Agree. When we bought a Sunderland mate was laughing his socks off at the fee; looks a bargin now!!
(Sunderland mate said they were going down after their first game this season though).

Amazing turnaround since the horror show against Bristol City. Then he was also injured for nothing, now PVA (and Tomkins) play game after game. 2 PVA goals in two games, Tekkers three in how many?

Interesting to see Roy address PVA’s tweet in the prezza.

After Sheffield United, PVA tweeted ‘they just wanted it more, we’re annoyed and will work harder’ or words to that effect. Roy picked up on the bit about the other team wanting it more and PVA has come out stating it was his agent/social media manager that posted the tweet, not him.

As one of the players who appears to genuinely buy into the ‘cpfc family’ vibe on social media and communicates with fans regularly (setting up a fantasy football league and tweeting about it regularly) id now be interested to know if that’s actually genuine or if it’s all done on his behalf.

Either way, don’t waste your time on social media (apart from hol), I recommend YouTubing a video called ‘look up’.

I’d take Schlupp at left back if he can prove his BS post game excuses are coming from the heart.

That is all.

He said that it was done on his behalf and I have no reason to doubt him. Wasn't it Bakary Sako who announced on Twitter how pleased he was to be joining Burnley as his social media poster had got it wrong.

More fool the people that follow the mutterings of footballers anyway

I'm not having that. All this hiding Behind their agent bollox. If it is someone employed by PvA then he is responsible for all tweets done on his behalf.

Schlupp seems as inept at left back (defensively) as PVA has done recently. PVA was dropped for a bit last season or the season before and came back well so maybe a bit of time out would do him good.
Jairo played left back a bit at Ajax, maybe give him a go?
