I have to say most people didn't realise the danger that such a skewed turnout would deliver something that wasn't in line with the overall thinking of the population. If they had then maybe it would have been a 90% plus turnout in all age groups. That would certainly have been a substantial Remain majority.
Do you know if there any for how those who didn't vote would have done?

Yesterday the Remainers were discussing how they can seize control of the Parliamentary timetable. The government sets the timetable which Johnson has just done. If the opposition don't like it they can vote the government and its timetable down all of this is in the hands of the MPs. I don't see anything unconstitutional in this but of course I am not an expert. Where I would have disagreed with Boris is if he tried to stop Parliament meeting before Nov 1 that would have been out of order. It's time for the opposition to either accept the result of the referendum or force a GE.

Overseas students and EU funding - surely you can see that? If any academic has a contrary view they had better keep quiet - or face a barrage of abuse from their all-knowing peers.

How many bankers were jailed from the calamity of 2008? How much tax has Facebook, Amazon, Starbucks paid? If the economy is recovering why are interest rates so low? why has the stock market dropped about 10% in 1 year? I'm neither pro/against Brexit. What I'm for is issues being dealt with by politicians. I would be quite confident that if the Queen could dissolve Parliament, we would not notice the difference. Cameron tried that and that's why we are in this mess. Firmly on the EU'S door mat.

So, what exactly was it for you? BTW, I'm not accusing you or any Brexiteer of racism. I see the benefits of of both in and out, but, imo, taking back control to me doesn't seem like a valid argument. What will we be in control of? Our Economy will tank in the next year or so, but not because we left the EU, it will tank because the actual politicians we are entrusting to deliver Brexit are the actual people that have already destroyed this economy. No, I was never motivated particularly by immigration - it's a handy hook to accuse Brexiteers with "Racism" (sigh), "Bigotry" (yawn) and "Xenophobia" (snore). Nor was it the strongest motivation for those that voted to leave. This is evidenced by probably the most accurate exit poll available, before the media hysteria and post-vote propaganda started ramping up:

I don't think the Queen had any option. To me this is very wrong but it is just as wrong to argue to remain, both are affronts to the democratic process (I voted remain but we lost).
