One of their leaders was on the Andrew Castle show on LBC. Castle is fairly inoffensive and talks common sense he is not Jeremy Paxman yet showed the guy up to be a complete idiot it was like listening to Comical Ali.

On the subject of Id's my job at the Polling station was to check people's id. It was no big deal, about 70% of adults hold a driving licence the rest have a passport or A Freedom Pass or a bank card and a utility bill etc.

If someone does not have any form of identification my question would be how did you get on the electoral register in the first place. If you cannot prove who you are you should not be allowed to vote.

There are rumours of course that some left wing councils are not too particular about who gets on the electoral roll and would not welcome close scrutiny that would come with id's.

I've never really known where I fall down on this particular issue.....part of me agrees with both of them.

If a school wants a strict uniform code then fair enough, as long as parents are given a long enough lead in time.

But it's going to annoy those children and parents who sent their children there when its policy was different.

I get the demand for individualism and I get the demand for conformity. As long as the school is plain about what road it's going down and doesn't give mixed messages then fair enough....but it's always going to annoy one side of the debate.
