I sense a little of the bravado and self confidence in the "leave at all costs" lobby both here and in the wider world ebbing away!

I also detect a return to the "slagging off" tactics that typifies so many of their arguments, which is another sign that their hopes are waning.

As I predicted, Parliament will always maintain it's supremacy over the executive and ultimately will not allow itself to be bullied into submission.

Too early to be 100% sure of that but the straws in the wind are all blowing one way.

Well then, they should just cancel the whole f***injg thing, and put up with the inevitable riots

Glad you cant vote then, many of the OLD people are the reason the young even have the vote!! Dont suppose President Adolf would have allowed any voting!

At the end of the Second World War the genesis of modern European cooperation was formed.

Anyone who personally fought against the nazis should understand that close links inside Europe are a good thing.

Apart from the ghoulish and unethical nature of this I'll state once again, the logic of this doesn't work.

More people would have entered into the older age brackets than would have died....People's politics are affected by age and the way the EU has behaved wouldn't have helped the remain side.

I predict no real significant change on any second vote.

You are entirely incorrect. People don't become Brexiteers due to age, but to life experience and upbringing

In any case more new voters are entering the fray than older voters leaving, ergo my logic works regardless. And it isn't ghoulish.

And by the way, what exactly has the EU done that is so heinous. The major red line is the backstop. Things are already going unstable in Northern Ireland, God help us if we lift the lid off that situation again.

Part of the reason for Brexit is the generation that actually knew war has largely gone now. It was that generation which voted to enter the EU in the first place, I wonder why...

We are doomed to carry on repeating history as some people just never learn. I blame teachers...

True that. Because if they don't cancel the whole thing the riots will be worse. Shortages tend to have that effect on people, ask Louis XVI

Riots. Seriously? There will be no riots if they cancel brexit. That's a statement worthy of the oft quoted 'project fear' brigade. How ironic.

Johnson has just been made to look like a blustering buffoon in parliament this afternoon when pressed for actual, tangible information regarding his position. Not for the first time.

Watching this debacle live this afternoon has made me think that this SO24 bill will make it through to a vote tomorrow, and that it will be passed. I'm at the point now where I'm not even sure if that is a good or a bad thing anymore.

I'm not sure the drama of no deal would be as bad as everyone in the reamin camp is making out, but when Gove comes out with a statement detailing an extra £20m provision to keep the roads in Kent moving in the event of no deal you have to wonder what else they are anticipating as an immediate blowback to leaving abruptly.

As always the truth is probably somewhere between complete chaos and frictionless serenity but the leavers will tell you there will be no issues at all (bollocks) and the remainers will tell you that the world will end (also bollocks).

I say bollocks to the lot of them

I don't think that works actually.....and yes, I do think it's a bit ghoulish if you see old people dying as some form of positive.

Blimey...haven't we gone over that enough times already...to sum up.

Freedom of movement.....which is essentially control of our borders.
Control of our laws that limit what government ministers can do.
Hegemony of UK law passing to European law.

The whole backstop is just a EU tactic and lie to stop us making trade deals outside of the EU.....and I suspect you're well aware of that.

Getting splinters from that fence again I see?....lets hope none enter the sensitive areas because that's a lot of bollocks you appear to have there SW19.

Oh really?

Well, I hope you are right, the risks are absolutely enormous. My sister was blown up by the IRA by the way.

haha. Listen I'm just making a broader point that the whole thing has now disappeared so far up its own arse that it's impossible to even contemplate getting off the fence anymore. I'd rather take the splinters and look down on the dross peddling from on high than jump into the s***ty mire of either sides relentlessly partisan anger and endless despair.
