How can you, in any meaningful democractic way, believe that Remain, the losing option from 2016, deserves being on the ballot paper?

Through gritted teeth I can concede that an arguement can be made for people being asked to vote on either a deal or no-deal with regards to how we leave the EU but the issue of Remain has been settled.

But a second chance for Remain? That is what will destroy peoples faith in our democracy. That is what makes the current divide not only more toxic than it is but potentially pushing the issue into a far more darker realm of political discourse. The country decided. Remain was rejected.

Once we leave then a campaign for rejoining, that has an absolute political legitmacy. Zero issues around that. But to wish for Remain on another ballot paper is simply beyond my comprehension. Do you not have any fears about what that could unleash in this country? Of the potential damage that it causes in the short, medium and long term?

What would you say on democracy if remain won by a huge majority

That democracy no longer exists cos remain should no longer be an option!

But the impasse is the problem. This refusal to accept that we have voted to leave. That our future is not as part of the European Union.

And how would a Remain vote break the impasse? It makes things even worse than they are at the moment. The UK does not return to how things were. Wjy should Leavers accept the result of another referendum when people such as yourself refused to accept the first one?

As I have said, revoking A50 makes a lot more sense than a farce of a second referendum because all that does is cement the divide even more. Revoke still brings with it a lot of anger but that is aimed at 650 MP's. Not millions of others.

If you believe in democracy in any recognisable form then Remain has to be off the table.

Perhaps it's the gritted teeth that made you misread my post but I made it clear I did accept the referendum after the vote. My new referendum is the only thing I can think of to solve a problem that is a consequence of so many combining factors.

No deal wins out we go.

Remain wins status quo.

As I said putting a deal not strong enough to convince parliament would never get on the ballot paper. You're wasting your thoughts on that one.

I do. It's a system that has proved itself to fail every time.

What about caving? Surely caving would kind of fit in more with the national positioning?

I will admit to being quite pleased with this one.

That .makes no sense.

Also if leavers get in a strop and withdraw their vote then remainers will dominate politics for a generation.
