Not a reasonable analogy.

Bercow expressed a strong opinion, which he believed was also the view of the House of Commons, which caused Mrs May not to request him to invite Trump to address Parliament. If she had decided to ignore his advice and make the request I guess he would have done so. So he wasn't taking a decision. He was giving advice.

It just seems that you will always take the opposite view to most others on here, you would say black was white just to be contrary, so on that basis Im done with trying to argue with your myopic views

That someone denies something has to be tested and the truth determined. Even the guilty deserve a fair trial.

That's ALL I am arguing. Until his actions have been either confirmed or not we ought to reserve judgement. Have you never been falsely accused? I know I have. I have a situation right now in which someone with whom I had a very minor car accident (our wing mirrors touched), genuinely caused entirely by him, is trying to claim compensation for a non existent injury and is accusing me of driving into him when we stopped to exchange details. It's completely false but there were no witnesses and as a consequence my insurance might be impacted.

Unless and until what he has been accused of has been fully investigated we should give him, as everyone, the benefit of the doubt. Mud slinging exists in Parliament just as much as elsewhere.

He has not been "peddling his own agenda". He has been doing his job of ensuring that Parliament is sovereign. His own current agenda is unknown, but in the past he was staunchly on the right wing of the Tory party.

He was but for the last few years he has become very left win.
He is a horrible little man who the term "short man syndrome " was invented.

You know,I would have bet my house on certain posters sticking up for him.

So f***ing predictable.

So when Bercow said, “I was speaking my own view. I had a sense that I was speaking for a majority of the House” and “it is not a government prerogative; that is a matter for the speakers of the two houses” he was talking about giving his advice? Even though he apologised to Norman Fowler for not including him in the decision making.

The role of the speaker should be an unbiased position, as have all those previously shown. He will go down in history as the most hated speaker, given a standing ovation by the SNP and Lib Dims tells everything really. By the way look how many Tories were left in the chamber, as they presumably couldn't bear listening to the Scottish p***.
What do you think of the childish behaviour by Labour MPs, behaviour that seemed to be condoned by the Speaker. Wonder what he would have done if it had been Brexiteers

His bias is entirely towards the rights of Parliament as a whole and against the executive over stretching itself. He has been very even handed with all.

Only the hard line Brexiteers "hate" him. So your post says much more about your own bias than it does about Bercow's.

I drive a 3 year old Golf. It will be a few years yet before I get a motorised pram!

The other driver is, from his accent and name, originally from Eastern Europe, in his 30s about 6.6 tall. 110 Kgs min, athletic and menacing. He threatened me and I was pretty intimidated as I am, believe it or not, very calm and reasonable in these circumstances. It's a blatant attempt to defraud the insurer.

Good luck with this. Hope you weren’t too shaken up by the incident.
