A little bit like his international choice.
Maybe that's in his head.
Two bad choices now.
5 year contract and impatience.

The bottom line for me is that despite his talents and adoration from we fans, Wilf is as thick as two short planks.
If he had any sense he would stay at Palace where he can cope with the stress level and expectation and earn a huge pay rise just by staying put.

Cant blame him for wanting to play Champions League.. hes certainly good enough.
However, I do entirely blame him for the way hes going about things to try and play in the Champions League..notably trying to join teams not in the Champions League LOL.

The worst part is, so far this season hes been so unbelievably average.

Theres two instances that stand out for me so far..
The first is that it was him who lost the ball for the Daniel James goal because he was trying to be clever.

The second was against Villa at home, he was taking so long to come back from offside postions, just strolling even when we were still attacking.. It was infuriating everyone around me when he was getting flagged for nothing more than petulance.

If we were to get Batshuayi and say, 30m for Wilf and bought Watkins from Brentford for say 12m, still having Townsend, Ayew and Schlupp, would we be better off or worse? opinions

my guess is he thinks the contract extension he signed was one of the stupidest things he ever did. and ultimately, he blames the agent.

This is my take on it. His agent would/should have advised him better on that extended deal and that seems to have ultimately been the stumbling block on a summer deal.

Not sure what a new agent would do instead, but I guess every window that passes reduces the amount we will want/be able to demand.

But like many others on here - I hope not Everton and can only see that money is the driver, as it can't be the oft-quoted Champions League football.

As has been said if playing for a Champions League club was really that important Celtic would have queues of players lining up to sign for them. The fact they can’t pay hundreds of thousands a week would surely not matter.

We know from Hodgson that Wilf has ‘a beef’ with Parish.
We know, from Hodgson in a Radio 5 interview , that his motivation to join Everton was about ‘money.’
They were reputedly willing to pay him another £70k per week.
We know that Parish and Wilf’s agent have a business relationship and seem to operate quite closely.
It must be possible that Zaha believes the failure to get his move is partly attributable to his agent.
He’s on a long contract with no apparent release clause but instead a vague gentleman’s agreement that he can go to the ‘right club for the right money’ whatever that means.
There now seems to be a lack of trust and if he appoints a new agent it seems his mandate will be to move Zaha on.
In the meantime we’re left with a disillusioned player ( yes even on his fabulous wages).
As other posters have mentioned his best course of action would be to play out of his skin to attract a top club.
However, the signs so far this season have not been promising.

Get rid off and move on, guys like Awey who put in a shift without the histrionics are the type of player we need, a good winger and striker should mitigate the loss of Wilf, the fee received for AWB should buy us a good RB and cover at LB. I thought the Everton offer of £55 million plus player in part exchange was a good deal. Wilf however is guaranteed to flop at a club like Everton in a City like Liverpool.

We should have bitten their hands off. 55 mill plus Tosun and McCarthy. Not hindsight, I said it at the time. Think Tosun would do well here. Two goals for Turkey in midweek.

He's also getting too old for a big move. Top clubs either want proven top level talent or young players they can shape. A lot of coaches will look at him, at 27, and think 'he's got too many bad habits that are too ingrained and I haven't got the time to coach that out of him now'.

Ultimately each player makes the final decision about where they play. Truth is Wilf is not very good at it. Couple this with a clearly indecisive mentality and you end up at 27 realising your mistakes. You see AWB cracking on at Man U and that must be like rubbing salt in wounds.
It is hard for anyone who is not gifted to play pro ball what must be going on between his ears but it’s not sounding good.
What he should be doing is keeping his head down, focusing on his game and what will happen will happen. If he performs well, consistently, without emotion, the top boys will be at the gates for him. If not, they won’t. Simples.
Look at AWB. Kept his head down, played like a star, never moaned on or off the field and was gone at top dollar.
Look at Wilf. Inconsistent, long faced, petulant, touchy, arguing with the captain recently and always the ref, and now apparently saying everything is wrong.
When you look at his contract and his earnings it makes no sense. More than a lot of Champions league players get. So it’s not about money. It’s about decisions. Now he is rich, he is probably kicking himself he signed the contract. His decisions and indecisions are gnawing away at him. And worst of all, the truth is he has only got himself to blame.
He is at a crossroads. It’s a dilemma for him and he is not handling it well. Banging in a transfer request at the worst possible time. Now sacking his agent. Not looking good.
He needs to get on the pitch and show everyone just how good he really is. He needs to show he loves performing top level. Week in week out. Sadly that has never been Wilf.
I personally hope someone comes in for him at £50m in the next window and Parish let’s him go for all our sakes. But today I’m not sure either of those will happen. Sad.
