There would be no point in voting at a tory party conference.

Just sit on your arse mindlessly applauding any statement no matter how fatuous.

A special round for 'johnny foreigner' or 'hang them' or 'bash them'.

Tories could never do anything but lick.

There was nothing wrong with that vote, the chair would have ordered a card vote if it had been anywhere near close.

It was just that the remain side lost.

But the policy of a future referendum within six months of power with a credible leave and remain option won so the public will decide.

Not a May or Johnson stitch up but leaving our single market trading position undiminished (thank you Mrs Thatcher).

Just revoking is by far the better option than all this in my opinion.

Tee hee. You know what you’ve just fallen into?

Is it? Genuine question as I really don't know but I though I saw a show of hands on the news from the LibDem conference but it could have been cards in thew air (is this more accurate?). Not sure if the Tories have had a conference yet.

There’s controversy after the vote of hands but they won’t have another ore. That’s my point, not that there was a vote of hands.

Doesn’t sound any different to the Labour conference.

The Labour Party is no long fit for purpose to be the primary opposition let alone the government party.

They are so mired in procedures and attitudes of the past and in fighting that they cannot do their job.

They are one of the primary reasons that we now have someone like Johnson as our PM.

That said I think that their position on Brexit has actually a great deal of merit. To offer the EU a deal which they would certainly accept but would still see us leaving the EU and then asking everyone to choose between that and stating in makes sense. It offers a midway position between a Tory no deal exit and the LibDem no Brexit.

Which will be a problem for people like me. I could no more vote for a Johnson led Tory party than a Corbyn led Labour party.

That is a really stupid policy especially as I'm still waiting for my Boots voucher from you bloody Anglo-Saxons.

Labour must be laughing today. Not only do they get to make a few quid from this conference but now have the perfect excuse to wrap it all up early.

And that 'vote' yesterday. Absolutely wondrous stuff. Like a Carry On film meets an old Soviet Union Congress circa 1950.

All we need now are 5-year plans and productivity targets for avocado farms.

We live in magical times.

Policies that have come out of conference:

Green New Deal
4 day working week
Public pharmaceutical company
Abolishing Private Schools

That doesn't seem like a party whose stuck in the past, or too mired in procedures to run effectively.

Green new deal......Unless that means building nuclear no thanks....bills are too high as they are....lots of people are struggling as it is.

4 day working week......? Seriously? How on earth do they get enough tax from that? How are firms going to be competitive on a 4 day week?

Public pharmaceutical company......I see some sense in this.

Abolishing private schools......mixed feelings....strong arguments on both sides.
