Do you remember the whole debacle of people accusing speed cameras of being racist ?

Not firemen, but inanimate objects.

You have forgotten the golden rule that things can only be your fault if you are a White male.

There's certainly truth to that. This idea that your race makes you 'privileged by default' is seriously wrongheaded. I read an article the other day by the singer James Blake, who suffers from depression, and he was very caught up on the idea that his feelings were almost irrelevant because he wasn't a minority and hadn't faced those specific struggles. To me that is almost tragic.

Those groups can sometimes face additional hurdles, but I was quite sickened at the idea that someone would 'feel bad for feeling bad' just because they didn't tick the right boxes. Ultimately, people are people and when someone is in a tough spot we need to bleach politics, left and right, from the equation.

Of course it's a two way street so on the flipside you do get the odd type who almost specifically doesn't care about suffering within said minority groups. Anyone that isn't mentally or ideologically weak can spot and appreciate where the balance lies in these matters though and thankfully I think that sense of fairness applies to most people.

Apparently she’s apologised on Twitter

“I am reassured race played no part in their response to the Grenfell Tower fire.”

Is that an apology?

Trivial fact - Palace used to win 5-1 at least once a season, maybe next season?

What I would be complaining about is Scotland have implemented much tighter requirements on smoke alarm systems for landlords to comply with following Grenfell. No such legislation for England.
