Very tempted to give a sarcy, 'what a fool', come on it's Palace or here is some hard evidence response however there is a part of me thinking let's just see where we sit come the new year.

I don't think this current run of games is the tester, it will be when we play the teams in our 'mini league' that will determine our performance this year. I still support numerous teams every weekend in the hope they beat our relegation rivals!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I'll dream with you Nick.

We have quality defenders and a strong midfield but still lacking up top. No cover at RB or on the wings, so everyone needs to stay fit. We look well drilled and organised at the moment. Our defending at corners was a shambles yesterday, but that was very unlike us.

The work rate is terrific - Jimmy Mac and Ayew in particular.

If we can get to 28-30 points by Christmas and keep hold of Zaha in Jan, I think we've got a chance. Utd, Arsenal and Spurs all look out of sorts. I think Tottenham will come good which leaves two spaces up for grabs - one will be Leicester and currently we're the best of the rest.

last season, 57 points was enough for Wolves to make it. We're currently on par with that.

We are riding the VAR wave this year and are currently getting the benefit of it. I reckon it’s given us 7 points at least. Take those away and our table position would not be great at all. Small margins dictate football games at this level, so let’s hope we continue to get the rub.

I’ll take mid table as a good finish but as some have rightly said, we need to add some youth to our ranks otherwise next year will be like watching Dads Army.

The difference this year is that we're in a position in games that means that a VAR decision affects the outcome.

i.e. had we not fought back to 2-2, the disallowed goal would not have affected the result.

but on topic, it's a no from me.
I'd take Top half.

W have got 15 points after 10 games - last season it took us 17 games to get the same number of points.

Notwithstanding, I am certainly not getting carried away at all.Our forward line is woefully lacking and injury problems could well hit us hard.Supporters might look to the January window for a strengthening of the squad but I don't expect any significant arrivals across all areas of the squad.

Excellent start for us of course but I certainly don't expect a top 6 or 7 finish. We will hit 'Pitchy seas' and perhaps a mid-table position is more realistic.

Excellent start from us but I just can't see us finishing 6th or 7th but I see no reason that we won't finish top half.

I honestly think a European finish at this moment would be a disaster for us. We need serious investement in the squad and I think we are a few years away from being able to compete in Europe and PL.

Yeah, even if we have a great season, a Europa place will probably be just out of our reach but if we could make top 10, I’d be over the moon with that.

The nearest that we'll have come to being in Europe by the end of this season will still be when we drew Dover Athletic away in the 3rd round a few years back.

Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry.

7 extra points, seriously? Chalking of the 3rd goal yesterday was the only serious error I can think of in our favour, giving us an extra point.

Obviously we can start dreaming, that's what being a fan of a club like Palace is all about. Still, it's only a dream as we could quite easily be win-less in November.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Let's wait and see how the next 5 games go.

Good to see points on the board, but Norwich has been our only convincing victory so far, and we've had more than our fair share of luck.

We still need a striker and have a concerning lack of goals from open play, Roy still doesn't understand that you need to use all your subs in the modern game. Still odd that he refuses to play Mayer and Camarasa. We need a right back - Ward wont be able play at the level he is at over the entire season.

Cahill signing has been great though.

You mis-understand, we have had 50/50 calls go in our favour at least 3 times this year if not more. It’s not just chalking off the mistakes they make it’s the decisions that are borderline but go in our favour. Remember Villa and the dubious simulation?

Can I dream that we can stay in the premier league for the next ten years, even if it's 17th every season?

Can I dream that by then we'll have put all the money we need into the club's infrastructure to leave a legacy?

We've witnessed years of neglect, watched it all run down. To repair this damage will take years of investment.

Uninspired? Unimaginative? Boring football?

If that's what needs to be done to achieve my dream then so be it.

Legacy
