just reading the news feeds on it.

if planning comes to fruition it seems a perfect way to spend the AWB cash...well done 2010...hopefully the futures bright for the academy.

When Parish makes an announcement about infrastructure improvements, first get a very large pinch of salt (a bucket full would be better) and then file them with the 'plans' to build a new stand. There's been no consultation process on this, never mind obtaining planning consent and yet it's supposedly going to be built and operating next year. There always a lot of pie in Parish's sky and past experience says believe it when you see it:

I would of thought meeting with local residents last night constituted a consultation. The planning permission will be down to Bromley Council, there is a precedent of Kent County Cricket development locally.
You seem to think something of this scale can just be built, come what may of the process every other development has to go through.
The main stand is being held up by Sainsbury’s and Mayor of London regarding traffic issues, do you again Parish should just ignore all that and build anyway, only to be told to pull it down.

I'm a bit fed up with the Parish announcements.
Last year he was asking us to contact Croydon council, telling them why a new stand at Selhurst Park would be so good for the local area, and I did as he asked.
But I wonder why I bothered, nothing appears to be happening, and if any progress is being made or not , we're not told about it.

Those CGI images looks as though they were done by the same people who done the Crystal Palace Park stadium pictures.

How's that coming along by the way ?

bet you lot would fall into a barrel of tits & come out sucking your thumb.

could you not be positive for once?

its a step forward and the idea is the one we all want with academy graduates playing in the first team...we need to offer the kids a better route to 1st team football...this helps acheive this goal surely?

"subject to planning permission".

I've heard that phrase somewhere before.

I agree, it would be a step forward if it were to happen, but Parish has got form when it comes to spouting bollox about construction projects. I hope I'm proved wrong but I'm waiting for another reason/excuse as to why it can't go ahead.

Still, at least he'll have his ego massaged by all the sycophants who will say at least he tried.

so it came out yesterday the stumbling block in the new stand is sainsburys holding us to ransom over a “slither” of land.

lets be honest, since noades did the sinking holmesdale we have had no major developments in the ground, these “issues” dont get ironed out in a short space of time.

lets be positive & say in a few years we will have a cat 1 academy and potentially a brand spanking new main stand...it is more than has happened in the last 25 years...why be negative about it?

Fans appear negative because they are always kept in the dark.
There may be things happening behind the scenes, but the fans aren't kept informed, and it feels like nothing is going on.
Parish does not come across as particularly supporter friendly.

so should parish release a press release on every step of the process.

personally i dont expect that as a fan, as its none of my buisness...when there is some concrete news thats when i expect to hear something.

as long as its not like SJ’s “re-united” campaign he duped us all with!

i still remember walking around the ground the weekend the “re-united” thing happened seeing fans who had literally brought the t-shirt...think it was a qpr game...could be wrong tho
