Ah this is comforting as all is well with the world our usual keyboard warriors are locking horns on the subject of one of its favourite boogie men, everyone is accusing everyone else of levels of madness and stupidity and that makes me see despite all the hurly burly of the real world, here all is as it should be.

OK for instance, so if researching Asian or African facts a good starting point would be SOAS, The School of African and Oriental studies, as they have access to microfiches of actual treaties, historical documents, and anthropological studies.

Stanford and MIT have good scientific data that can be accessed also.

It is still a fact that all of the histories are in English and therefore have been interpreted already.

Which is where our own reasoning comes into play. For example, The predominant use of maps did not occur until the emergence of the printing press. So, therefore, how accurate any borders on a map of a given area before then is dependent on the diligence of one's own desire to delve into the subject.

Notable that this laudable research doesn’t include how to spell Vince Hilair. Or Writey. Or Solako. Or Wan Basika.

Indeed, I do stand corrected, it was indeed sadly my fault for not checking the spellchecker that changed them again.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it ))

School, SN.Juniors, SN High, Selhurst. 1st match 1972 CP 2 N. Utd 1. Thank you, John Jackson and Vince Hilair for brightening our darkest days. I moved to the west country in 1983. Always Proud and 'Glad All Over' to be a Palace Fan. ))

Fair play. Spellchecker can be a mixed blessing. Predicictive text is a pill of crop as well.

Let not go into denial here because there is racism within the ranks of the palace supporters like in most clubs within the UK it just for each individual club to take a good hard policy against those individuals and get them out! When they show their ugly head you have to laugh at them because in this day and age they look retarded
As there is no intelligence in picking on someone simply for their colour or religion!!!

Well said I hope that all Palace fans agree, thx.

I understand that an open letter was sent to CPFC by the leader of Croydon council, also signed by 3 local MP's, back in April.

The letter warned the club that the Democratic Football Lads Alliance is trying to organise support and spread it's message of ''racism, Islamophobia, anti migrant sentiment and violence '' amongst the Palace fans at Selhurst Park.

Apparently there is a closed Facebook page for the CP DFLA group with almost 500 members.

Football clubs and matches are for everybody....not just for people you like or agree with.

There is no requirement for a consensus upon opinions on race, religion or immigration or indeed anything political.

I don't regard the attendance at football matches to really involve anything other than football related themes.

If others do that on whatever side of a political position, it's for them. I regard it rather poorly. I would rather politics and sport existed in their own forums.

What I do object to is forced obedience to very one eyed and politically shaped language. I view it as just as political and malign.

I tend to think it odd that we'd expect a particular ideology of fans. It's sport at the end of the day not a political party. Though of course basic human decency factors in too, and so anyone cracking one off to dreams of no action being taken if someone yells racist slurs at players from the terraces can get that hair-brained idea in check too. Any such individuals should be banned. As with most things in life, common sense and a basic standard of behaviour will do.

Sounds pretty sensible to me.

Surely football should try to be as non political as possible. Anyone turning up to matches to shout racial abuse is not doing themselves or the club any good and I think most, if not nearly all of us, can agree on that.
