PL or Championship I’ll still be a Palace supporter, but I’ve had enough of watching the dross we see currently. It’s boring, predictable and does not entertain. I find myself watching only because I’m hoping for something different to happen, but it’s like Groundhog Day, nothing changes.

I can’t understand the love in some have for Roy, he has players within the club that could change a game, but hardly picks them for the bench let alone the team. He just doesn’t trust youth or anyone that isn’t defensively minded. That for me is a massive downside to his managerial style.

I’d rather lose 4-2 against the top teams giving it a go than 2-0, at least we would see some action in the opposition half. It is 5 times already this season we have failed to score in the league and no-one can say that is a decent stat.

I agree with your first paragraph. After 52 years of going to games, it's hard to work up much enthusiasm at the moment.

As for Roy, he's doing more good than harm but it's the methodology that is a struggle. I think there's a perception that there is ' another ' AWB just waiting for a chance but from what I've seen, there just isn't. Of the so called flair players, Meyer hasn't done enough to justify a regular start and Camarasa looks like a cheap gamble that hasn't worked out. Yes, we need a creative midfield player but they need to be more proven and dare I say it, more expensive than those two.

I'll continue supporting the club and will renew my season ticket again, but if Bromley get promoted to the Football League then I'm tempted to take a year out and follow them.

Fair points, but I see it slightly differently. Meyer, Camarasa, Lokilo and the other youngsters just can’t pay the defensive game Roy wants them to and that is the reason they are not picked. They are good enough players, just not for Roy’s tactics.

Weird way to look at things. We formed relatively late, in 1905. Doesn’t seem fair that we’re above scores of teams who went before us.

Every club has ups and down. The weird thing is we’re virtually at our peak as a club but so many of our fans seem to think we’re entitled to more.

Remember Charlton and Curbishley?
Be very very careful what you wish for.

Curbishley was at the 'Valley' at Charlton's last home game, against Preston, and was sitting alongside Keith Peacock who was his assistant at the club.

Curbishley signed Dean Kiely, our current goalkeeping coach, for Charlton from Bury.

Utter nonsense, it was Roy that notice AWB and trusted he was good enough to throw in at the deep end.
There are some true morons on here that seem to think our youth players are all world beaters. News flash, they are not. We (as with many Prem clubs) have some promising youngsters with big potential. This is the Premiership where every point is precious. Roy cannot afford to risk Palace's place in the division as well as his own job/reputation on potential. We simply cannot to take the gamble and it wouldn't be fair to put that kind of pressure upon a youngster unless the coaching staff are 100% certain he is ready either.
Sure, Once we gain mathematical safety and are no longer chasing league position, other possible outcomes fine, throw in a couple of youngsters and see how they do.
Not exactly covered themselves in glory every time they have been given a chance in the cups though have they?

If you want to meet up to discuss calling me a moron to my face I’ll gladly oblige. Keep your offensive responses to yourself. You don’t know everything. For a start it was Ward’s injury that forced Roy to play AWB even though he had been pulling up trees in training for months.

The 'Mood music' is that there aren't a plethora of youngsters putting pressure on the first team squad and in our current position,Hodgson does not have the luxury of giving them a runout in the team in the PL.

Hodgson's sole objective is to avoid relegation and he has used his vast experience to formulate a 'Plan A' based on the players at his disposal. Not an easy watch at all but if we survive there won't be too many complaints.

Just to add that with Hodgson at the helm and a lack of more inventive signings the 'Plan A' will continue if it has ensured we remain in the PL.

Bet you get shouted down over that.
However , you are right.
One of my best mates is charltonista.
Refuses to talk about 'curbs' as he calls him.
Has let slip about what a bunch of self entitled w***ers a lot of their support became.
Also curbishley did not take them to the next level. Which was down.

Just out of interest which lower to mid table clubs have gone on to the mythical next level.
2. Chelski and Man Citeh. Wonder what they have in common.?
Leicester are giving it a go but not fully established in the upper echelons yet.

Also consider the amount of money that West Ham and Everton have spent trying to get to that mythical next level....how's that working out ?

Excellent point. Leicester are the exception to the rule the other mid lower table clubs may spend a fortune and will only improve to hovering around the top 5/6 if they are lucky.

Leicester couldn't prevent a very good defender from being excited to leave ..privileged could be Leicesters reward but they have no say in it.
