For what ever reason this hasn't worked out, not in the starting 11 and ineffective when he comes on - so on any measure, not missing much if he goes in Jan. Uptick on saved wages and anything we get for him.

lets be honest...ayew is s***, he isnt better than bentekkers at all.

big ben needs starts & proper time on the pitch.

i believe he would have more goals that ayew given the same amount of minutes on the pitch

Ha ha very good. Talking like someone that never goes to the ground.
If you know , you know. Ayew hungrier, stronger, jumps higher , more effort. Everything better than Benteke.

i am not sure if you have supported the club long enough to remember these guys but he ranks alongside the likes of alan lee / james scowcroft & cameron jerome in the tries hard but doesnt score stakes

you must know that if our corners could beat the 1st man benteke would be a massive threat from them.

Absolutely right. Ayew is Championship standard at best and the only way we can hope to get Benteke back to his best is to play him from the start and hope he scores a fluke goal to get his confidence back. Bringing him on late on in every match just heaps more pressure on him.

Completely untrue. Maybe this was true of Benteke at his best, but right now he has almost no redeeming qualities whatsoever, whereas Ayew has work rate, hold-up play, and has at least scored a few goals this season. Definitely not s*** and definitely not worse than Benteke, who needs to be put out to pasture.

thats all subjective and down to opinions.

mine being that ayew is s***, and given the same amount of gametime bentek would 100% score more.

Neither are good enough and whichever plays we will rightly complain unless they turn in good performances coupled with some goals.
Benteke looked good when he came on and would start him next week.

Mixed feelings on who I would rather see in the starting 11 - Ayew or Benteke, but if Ayew had put a rather easy chance away yesterday we would all be singing his praises. Thin line I think? Anyway, more important now is does Hodgson stick with Ayew for next week or start Benteke. I think in a defensive situation against Burnley’s large tough 11 it would help us more starting Benteke - Plus after yesterday’s cameo appearance and two international goals his confidence in front of goal might be worth a start?

I tend to agree with you, he did look a lot more interested yesterday with an excellent dribble and shot, Ayew is quite adequate for us for where we are at the moment and to judge him over the last few games against top defences (not including West Ham and Arsenal obviously) is very harsh, lets see how many goals he can score over the next four games.

As someone has said Burnley are a big bunch and as we are useless at defending corners etc I would play Benteke next week even if only to get the ball away, yesterday the bindippers second goal could and should have been cleared. Plus at the other end if Luka can manage to get the ball over the head of the first defender Christians heading abilility and positioning in the box could be a winner. As a side note thought that PVA's corners were much more useful.
