After the fight Ortiz said he was fine and his head was clear to carry on the camera shows his eyes were at the back off his head!

Fury and Ortiz have shown Wilder isn't invincible tho.
First Ortiz fight showed again, imo , how bent it is. When Ortiz had him going at the end of the round and he got saved by the bell. He was still f***ed as they came out for the next, but the ref had the Doc give him the once over for about half an hour so until he was ready to carry on.
I always thought if you weren't ready after the minute between you were in no state to continue.
Not if your laying golden eggs though.

Al Haymon and PBC are bad for the boxing consumer.

I can see boxing slipping back into the doldrums as eventually the punters lose interest. Too many fighters avoiding each other, too many one sided fights and too many dodgy decisions.

Gong to a big boxing match these days is very expensive and the big fights are all pay TV. In this country it's normally £20 in the states 0.

I think the promoters will eventually ruin it as the squeeze they punters too hard.

When Eddie Hearn arrived on the scene I really liked him as he put on good shows with strong undercards. However today he is now going the way of Frank Warren weak undercards and bum of the week for the top fighter.

I have stopped going to live matches and haven't paid for a fight for a couple of years.

Fleecing the fans. This one is on 10PM UK time I believe anyway, so it'll be a freebie down the pub with mates for me!

I agree with you though I probably back Hearn a bit more.....compared to how boxing promotion was done before he's far more fan friendly and his boxing shows were evemts and have been cards of far higher quality than before he turned up.

However, Hearn and Matchroom has now gone much more international and his fighters are on US shows more. With DAZN the focus has shifted and despite what Hearn says it's a downgrade for the UK market.

I agree that when Hearn signed for DAZN it was the signaling of an end to a short lived era for UK fight fans.....We were for a time where the action was.

But normalcy has been reintroduced...at least for now.

The DAZN deal in the US for fight fans is a considerable cost improvement on their previous PvP model and that's probably going to succeed compared to the competition like your PBCs and Showtime.

However, the UK fight fan is used to better value PvP fights and cards than the US and if DAZN move into the UK market we have the conflict of interest with Hearn being at Sky.

Could we see Sky dropping Hearn for Warren or another?....or some kind of DAZN/Sky partnership?

The 'house fighter' issue has always been with us in boxing and is the 'cash cow' factor. It isn't just Hearn it's all of them.

It's not fair but I don't see it changing while boxing is still structured with this promoter model.

I agree with all your criticisms but I still view these as exciting times in boxing.

Lerrone Richards (BT Sport, tonight), out of ibox gym Bromley. A good prospect , as is Dennis ‘the menace ‘ McCann.

For some strange reason I convinced myself that the Anthony Joshua fight was tonight and had been asking people if they intended on watching it. I'm getting ahead of myself!

I know mate. You can’t have shorts on that look like a bee. ‘Sting like a bee’? Not really with 3 knockouts in 13 fights. Ha ha
Was never a split decision though, thought he was well up.

When I was young people used to say I would float like a bee and sting like a butterfly.

Good interview with Joshua Buatsi on BBC. He seems to be a pretty decent, classy guy.
