The Chinese communist leaders struggling for popularity.

We acquisitioned Hong Kong for 99 years so we could get the population hooked on heroine in exchange for tea. Yet British rule seems like it was still more popular than the current communist regime.

A case of finally realising which was the better dragon to chase.

Barely newsworthy anymore. A bit like Georgia, Albania, Ukraine, Syria and Egypt. Baghdad protests are shown the odd time. Any others that are currently reported?

It's getting pretty wild in Hong Kong now. I saw a video of someone getting their ear bitten off yesterday. Mike Tyson territory.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

The situation appears to be spiraling further and further out of control in HK. A sad inevitability to it all. Being that we're potentially on the verge of having more control over immigration, I must say I'd be all for us prioritising them should the sh!t truly hit the fan. Lots of educated people, in a perilous situation, who would be grateful to a country they often feel an affinity with to begin with.

It was pleasing to see Trump signing the Hong Kong human rights and democracy act into law. While it's of course largely symbolic it's at least an instance of not completely turning a blind eye, which is what the general response has been everywhere.

The Chinese response was the usual issuing of predictable threats.....as if we are tp believe that they don't already do all they can to position, steal, bully and bribe their way to any outcome.....we all know they use NK as their proxy....and interestingly I heard down the pipe that they are developing a Caucasian only biological weapon.

I think it is only a matter of time before someone invents a weapon that targets people based on their genes. This type of weapon would be far more dangerous than nuclear weapons. Imagining being able to target a subset of the world population with little risk to your own people.

Not a happy thought.
