I do appreciate that there has been a bit of an uptick, but I don't really see Corbyn as being an asset for Labour. You could spin a wheel and replace him with just about anyone and they'd be polling better.

Saw a friend last night who is not political and rarely says anything hurtful or controversial. However he went into one over Jo Swinson he does not like the woman. Makes me wonder when someone like that criticises her she is more of a liability to her party than Corbyn is to Labour. Apparently she is in danger of losing her seat to the SNP. Still all to play for it's for the Tories to lose at this stage. Edited by Badger11 (03 Dec 2019 7.59am)

I think that's why Teresa May made such a hash of the last election as people simply didn't warm to her enough and she made the mistake of making herself the centre piece of their election promotion

Radio 5 are having all of the party leaders along in turn to answer questions posed by listeners. Boris, Mrs Krankie and the Plaid fellow have all had their turn and today it was Nigel Farage. I feel guilty as I rather like the bloke. He seems to talk sense about most things, is happy to say that he doesn't know if he doesn't know and deals with stroppy hecklers well

Edited by Badger11 (03 Dec 2019 7.59am) Everyone is saying this, and as much as I've highlighted Corbyn's shortcomings, I acknowledge that he is passionate about his politics. Swinson just comes across like a smarmy know it all rather than a leader.. If there's any more votes to me squeezed out for Labour, they'll likely come through her turning people off.

What may I humby enquire is the "Least worst option" as far as you are concerned ? Another 'Hung Parliament' with further Brexit dither and delay with Corbyn as PM propped up by the SNP and their 'Red lines'

It will take at least another year of cliff edge negotiation with the threat of reverting to a "no deal" exit. As everyone with actual knowledge of this type of negotiation has said these can take many years to conclude. Without any doubt this is by far the worst option which must be avoided at all costs. The public are being fed a diet of endless lies. The truth is that the quickest way to "get Brexit done" is to cancel it. The second quickest would be to negotiate a soft Brexit as staying in the customs union would not require ANY renegotiation of the trading relationship. So the least worst option would be to cancel it completely, either immediately or after a referendum. Failing that would be a soft Brexit. Only a hung Parliament can deliver those options. Corbyn can be contained until the threat of a hard Brexit is consigned to history and we hold, yet another, election. By which time we can only hope that Johnson has been dumped as the Tories regain their senses and again understand the need to hold the middle ground and choose a unifier as their leader.
