Agree, I want to hear from people commentating premier league games that have been involved in top level football. They have played at a speed and skill level that is below the national league standard. If a couple of Bromley town players were on there, I’d be as equally uninterested.
Obviously the tv company have used them as they fit there demographic and I am assuming are very cheap.

Eni Aluko may not have played in the Premier League but she comes from a footballing family (brother Sone Aluko). She is also highly intelligent - first class honours in Law, and is a role model for other aspiring female footballers.

Roy Hodgson has played for a few non-league Kent teams but has been pretty successful, under the circumstances, with Palace. He hasn't played at a high speed and skill level but his comments are worth listening to in my book.

She's also a nasty piece of work that wasn't much liked by her England team mates judging by their behaviour

Wasn't she the one that instigated the racism/bullying saga that eventually got the women's England manager the boot(cant remember his name)?

What an odd comment.

Roy Hodgson is the manager of the club so his contribution is probably more relevant than all the others. Have you even looked at his managerial career?

If by ‘instigated’ you mean ‘victim of’ then you’re absolutely right, yeah.

His name is Mark Sampson and he was just charged by the FA for racist abuse, now as manager of Stevenage.

On what basis is she a ‘nasty piece of work’?

In Your opinion, not mine.

Yeah I guess Sampson’s sacking, apology, and then being found guilty of it all over again just a couple of years later would suggest that Aluko is at fault.

I'm sorry, I didn't perhaps phrase it well enough. But the point I was making is that people can become very knowledgeable about Premier League football without ever having played at that level.

Which has absolutely no bearing on her abilities as a football commentator.

Phil Neville always comes across as a total ar*e, but after his first dreadful session commenting a world cup, he has proved himself to be a very good pundit since.

Apparently when the manager heard that some of her relatives were coming from Nigeria to the match he said that he hoped they wouldn't be bringing Ebola with them.
