Hopefully we can involve him in a deal for Edouard or Morelos to bring their prices down a bit. He’d tear up the Scottish league. Would be a good move for all involved.

He’s been given more than enough chances in the first team. It’s not as if he came on as sub and scored !

ive been impressed with benteke last 2 performances hes looking sharp and at it again. i think he could well play himself back into form. he is quite obviously a better player than ayew if he finds his goalscoring form again.

If anyone finds goalscoring form they're better than anyone else in our squad atm. I do agree with you however, he didn't lose all his ability overnight and probably somewhat optimistically I am hoping he will find form again. He does look much fitter and is hardly ancient at 29.

If we're offered any money at all for him we should grab it. Shouldn't have renewed his contract at all - a £120k p/w drain on the wage bill that could be put towards someone else. Anyone else. A proper carthorse of a striker, Cameron Jerome style, just someone who will contribute anything to the team.

I think you will find that the reason he’s been given an extended contract is so that we get some money for him rather than an out of contract nothing?

That's relying on someone agreeing to take him off our hands. If nobody is stupid enough to waste their money on him, then all we've done is add another £7 million to what Benteke costs us.
