In an ideal world a billionaire would buy 100% of the clubs shares but keep Parish on as an employed CEO would has no shares (well maybe a minimal amount to guarantee his performance) and just pay him a salary to run the club day to day. All major decisions would have to be run past the owner behind the scenes.
Owner happy/Parish gets to stay in the lime light. Everyone wins

I wonder if the yanks will ultimately analyse it all and decide that their only option is to double down.

agreed, but i think your being slightly harsh on the parish limelight thing.

2010 were originally reluctant buyers, but did it to save the club, whatever financial decisions parish makes for the club, IS for the good of the club, regardless if thats part self-preservation i dont care, at least i know the clubs in sensible hands.

look at villa this week, look at derby / reading / villa selling grounds to their owners, we all know what happens when the club runs out of money & dont own the ground.

look at sheff weds, dodgy taxi company sponsors owned the owner that actually have no taxis, or a sportswear sponsor owned by the owner who only make the kit and nowt else, the owner buys the ground on a 8 year payment plan to avoid FFP.

yes granted we have avoided FFP over the seasons by selling yannick & awb but they were funds raised by legitimate sources & we need to do that as a small club, at least we are well run club.

maybe he does love having his floppy hair & thousand pound suit on motd but i will take that over another mark goldberg wooing us with el tel, lombardo & a coked up padavano & curcic crippling the club.

He (Roy) added: "I spoke to the American owners when they were over when we played Bournemouth and they were very much on board as well.

"So it's a question really of making certain that we do our work and we find our targets and we work hard to get those targets.

"I believe that everyone in the club is on board with the fact that we do need reinforcements in the transfer window because we weren't able to get it in the previous transfer window."

Seems a bit more positive than the previous quotes. Perhaps the calling out of the Americans after the Brighton game rattled some cages, especially given his comments were cut from the post-match press conference on the club's website.

My expectations are more Borini and less Morelos now though!

He would be an excellent fit given that he has only scored 7 goals in his last 70 appearances!!!!

Alas, unless we offload Zaha our options in the striking department will be limited given the prices they command.
But let's not forget that 25% of what we receive from Zaha has to be passed on to Man Utd so our coffers might not be swelled much more than they were from the sale of AWB.

Hodgson admitted previously that we went for the Russian lad in the summer but it was turned down. He didn't say how much we offered but it was suggested the offer was £20m+. Freedman also stated we made offers for players but were put off by over-inflated prices. It is hard to tell how much money we have and whether much has changed since the summer, but I worry that our rather fortuitous position has put a dampener on any winter outlay. Borini does fit the workmanlike attitude that Roy likes, but surely he would just be another Ayew? Ho hum.

Terrific work ethic in matches as well as in training.I am led to believe he is a very good professional and a terrific character. He was Brendan Rodgers' first signing at Liverpool, I believe for £11 Mill.

I believe a Chris Wood, Ashley Barnes or Giroud would be good fits in our system.Hodgson does like a target man in his side.

Think i will take the French world cup winner out of those 3, given the choice.
Don't know the stats but i would guess his goalscoring record is better and definitely at a higher level.
Auci tres 'andsome.

The day someone purchases our club they will do their due diligence — and finished. It will happen like Manchester City. By the time the media find out, it's already complete.

Mods could you please merge with previous thread. Thank you

I know posters, understandably, take information from "sources" with a pinch of salt. However I had a conversation last week with a chap who has worked several times with the son of the Israeli (Ofer?). Apparently they are keen to buy the club and due diligence is being carried out now. They live in London and have numerous business interests including property developments.
They have ambition to expand the ground and would not hesitate in taking on Sainsbury.
This chap, although an Arsenal S/T holder comes to Palace a lot (his brother is Palace S/T holder), he says they are a nice family and would certainly put their heart and soul into the project. He wished that Arsenal could have similar owners.
He is not a person to make things up and did not have to mention anything, so I believe this has some legs but whether it comes off or not remains to be seen.
Thought I would share this but I do not expect everyone to believe it

Are you referring to Idan Ofer, who owns the majority of Portuguese club F.C. Famalicão and a third of Atlético Madrid?
