Spot on.

However the loss of trees/countryside for building of new homes absolutely is.

The bigger the population, the more buildings required. The more building, the less trees.

Simple logistics.

Most of the south of England was once all woodland or 'weald'.
In the C16th the best trees were felled to build naval ships - lots of them.

Even then, timber was expensive, and demand high. (Many buildings including churches used reclaimed timber from decommissioned ships in their construction). This is why faster growing inferior species were grown to meet demand.

So all the best trees were lost long ago, something we can't really blame on recent immigration.

However, perhaps if we hadn't built all those ships, Britain would not have been 'Great' and no-one would have wanted to come here.

For goodness sake. Every bloomin thread. No doubt it's the Muslims who chop down the most trees eh.

Not true! Also not true that we lost most of the trees to build the fleet. We did lose some excellent specimens though

Deforestation happened around 3,000 years ago. Then we lost lots of what we still had during WW1.

There is loads of space to plant trees. Just haven't had the will and funding to do so. New builds make squat difference.

Apparently 80% used in construction is imported.

I'm led to believe that the tree coverage of the UK has increased from 5% to 10% in the last 100 years. I can't find a reputable link for those figures though.

Indeed, and mostly from Canada and USA. Oak generally comes from France as Napoleon planted forests of it back in the day for shipbuilding, although some oak comes from other sources.

Nothing to do with Muslims at all. That’s you bringing that stuff up. Purely down to population.

Your original post pointed out that the UK have a smaller percentage of tree coverage than most other European countries. These other countries also in general have a far lower density of population than ours, far, far lower in some cases. The UK is very heavily populated. Hence little room for trees.

Sorry the facts do not fit with your political persuasions.

We know you don't like reality Maple but Britain is already the fifth most densely populated country in the world. All our countryside will have to be set for farming, power creation and reservoirs as the population swells.

Frigging hell, even the trees are foreigners.
