If we get a striker in I think he'll leave in January to the Championship either on loan or permanently, where I think he could do a job (unless he has lost all the ability he had). He really needs at least a couple of months of regular football to see if he can get back into shape and rediscover the form he was showing before his injury. He was ok yesterday, but he looked like a player who has been out for a long time.

Yep. Absolutely sh@t. Wonder what all the people in here defending him would say had we of lost yesterday, particularly after that blatant miss. Can’t score, can’t even stay fit for any amount of time.
Get rid and upgrade not just him but CB too.

Gambled on a ball across the box and scored a centre forward’s goal. A rare sight from a Palace player in the last couple of years. similar goal against Spurs in the cup last year.

With a run out in the cup on Sunday worth persevering with from the bench in the league IMO.
Made a difference second game running.

Has made huge impact as I feel he always does when able, always runs around and puts effort in hence his goal, well done Mr Wickham.

Huge impact is an overstatement. Has made a tiny impact.

And perhaps that is an understatement.

He made an impact.

Not saying a lot I know, but he is better than Benteke. At least he gets himself in the right areas at the right time.

A reminder of what Wickham can do - no goals but three first half assists ....

We just have to pray that he can stay fit as he has always had obvious ability - but not the body to stand up to the rigours of regular games.

When fit, I have more faith in his ability than I do with Benteke. He leads the line better, seems to gel with the team and has an eye for goal.

Wickham, has been a more than useful striker, is still young enough to be in the next few years. Keeping him fit has proved a nightmare, and , if that doesn’t change ,it doesn’t really matter how good he actually is. Wish him well, a fit Wickham, would a real asset.

It's 1 goal. That's a tiny impact. When there will be 2-3 goals it will be an impact. When there will be 7-8 goals it will be a huge impact by coming back.

In comparison to our other highly paid centre forward it’s an impact alright.
