Another reject from a struggling Everton side (like McCarthy). Can't say I'm too excited about Tosun (though happy to be proved wrong) - not in the same league as Bats last year. Hodgson says he's happy for Wickham to go out on loan so we'll be back down to 3 strikers again (if you can count any of them as strikers). We really need full-back and wing cover and a change of philosophy to play creative midfielders who will make the chances for the forwards.

An Aussie Cypriot friend of mine here who follows Turkish football says the thought Tosun was one of the best players in the Turkish Super League. He had high hopes for him when he moved to Everton but failed to consolidate a regular spot. Let's hope a change of environment will bring out the best in him.

When Tosun signed for Everton he never made an immediate impact goalwise.He scored in his 5th PL game and in that first season he scored 5 PL goals from 14 PL appearances. Edited by Willo (10 Jan 2020 4.00pm)
